How to Change the 5w UV bulb on a Blagdon Inpond

Your Blagdon Inpond 5in1 2000 or 3000 includes a 5w UV Green Water Clarifier to maintain crystal clear and healthy water all year round. The UVC helps to clear green water caused by suspended green algae. The UV light damages single celled algae so it can be removed by the Inpond filter. To ensure your UVC runs effectively when needed most, we would advise replacing the UV bulb every spring.
You can purchase replacement bulbs from your favourite aquatic retailer. Watch the video to see how easy the replacement process is.
The video shows the process on an Inpond 5in1 2000, however follow the same steps for the Inpond 5in1 3000.

I have the Blagdon inpond 9000 all in one and I have no idea if the UVC light is working. Before this I had an Oase Filtral 6000 which was so easy to see if the UVC was on . Interesting that the video clip doesn't actually show that the light was working either after fitting or how to detect it ...I think this is a design flaw in what is a very good pump. I have loads of algae in the pond at the moment yet the water is crystal clear, fish are happy and perhaps this time of year its normal for algae to increase ? All in all the Blagdon pump 9000 is brilliant for filtration and the fountain and waterfall are good ( compared with the Oase 6000) but is my UVC working ? I cant tell...

Just literally today replaced mine. Had the same problem... wonder if the uv only works underwater?? I know you shouldn't look at the light, but as you said you cant have a quick squint to see if its working before you set it underwater again. Wonder if it is a safely device?

I have a 5-1 3000 5w UV light and i was wondering if my pond would benefit more if i swapped the 5w for the 9w bulb including the power pack etc etc but leaving it as the 3000 pump? … Also for all those asking the same question regarding how you know if the uv light is working or not … if you remove the filters there is an actual site glass inside and it should glow green, once turned on. I learnt the hard way … after turning the power pack on and looking for any indication of the bulb working … nothing appeared … so i wrongly assumed it turned on intermittently … it dosn't!! if you cant see the green glow continuously through the site glass it does not work!! … i checked the bulb it had blown!! i replaced it with a new bulb turned the power pack on and the green light reappeared through the site glass.

My new Bladgon halfmoon pond is only around 3 weeks old and now almost over night I see it going green. It included the filter pump and UV Lamp but I am thinking this must be faulty? can anyone one help please thank you.

Just set up my infinity half moon, the light stays on all the time. The instructions say that it should come on at night, is the unit faulty or is there a switch somewhere?

Every time i change uv bulb it blows the bulb and fuse

Connecting it back after changing the Bulb. In to the filter housing. Can test your patience. Like it is for me this morning 🫣
