I've watched a few videos now and they all mention this same exact way. However, by creating a big rectangle and sending it to the back, certain features created on the Master Page such as the page numbering won't show... Any idea how to solve this issue?

I followed your tutorial to a T to try and get my brochure to print with a color background. It will not print with color background or save as a PDF with the bleed area defined and checked off to print or export. Not sure what I am doing wrong here

I have 20 pages in my document and I want every one of them to be a different colour (it will be printed). Any tips on how to change specific page colours as the first tutorial changes the colours of the entire document?

What you should do is make more Master pages (A, B, C, D, etc), apply colors to those, then right-click the pages you want to be certain colors and apply the appropriate Master page. You should be able to hold cmd/ctrl to select multiple pages at once to apply masters to them!

I think you need to use jpeg to keep the background of a picture, assuming it is white. I intentionally use png when I do not need the white of an item's background. -hope this helps. :)

Add blocks of color with shapes, that’s the main way to apply color to the background. You can do it in master pages and apply it to multiple or your whole document at once

teaching can take longer than doing, especially when you don't know the exact intent of the searcher. I show 3 examples here that someone might mean. In reality, it takes 5 seconds or less to change the bg when you know what you're doing

That’s called a spread, very normal to work that way when creating books etc. to go to single pages, in your document setup, uncheck Facing Pages

Sadly this doesn't help me. I need a way to add a printable page colour in the background without losing my text wrapped around an image in front that will print. The above explanation is very very basic.

Adding a shape like I showed and then somewhere in the properties of that shape you should be able to tell it to not have text wrap, I’ll try to look for this. It will then behave like a color underneath without messing with your design

Maybe you should change the title of the video. You start explaining how to change the background color at around 4 minutes. Creating a rectangle is not changing the background color haha.

Both ways I explain are valid, if you’re trying to print the color then you need to add it with a shape (rectangle etc)

I make tutorials for beginners so I give a little more value than that. Any experienced user would scrub the video to the point they see the background color change and get what they need in a few seconds. I recommend that on the next tutorial you watch 👋

@@pixelandbracket background color change like this needs to be on the master, you guys just made a box.. make a new page, still white, add the box to the master and you would see the background of the whole document change.. this video is a waste of time cuz it missed more or less most of the essential info needed to change background color.. video title should be "how to change color of a SINGLE page" or "how to make a colored rectangle in 6:25 min
