Hello great work. I'm having a problem with the Steering Rack Assembly of my Honda Civic X. The steering is making tik tik noise when I turn it. I think the same bush in the video that you showed has been worned out which causes the pinion gear to misalign with the rack which causes noise. My question is where can I find this Bush for my Civic X. Please reply !! Thanks

Hello. For the Honda Civic, I only have bushings for the 9th generation (2011-2017).

When the rack shaft goes all the way back into the steering box, it does not pass the internal channel where the bushing spurs enter and you cannot remove the bushing, therefore it must be removed to be able to remove the old bushing and install the new one.

I did not change the bushing from the steering box on this model, but if you can remove it completely with the steering box on the car, it means that you can install it.

@@steeringrack9561 The rack cant be moved enough to get the bushing out, you have to totally disassembly the hole rack housing to replace the hushing on Nissan leaf gen 1.

In this case, the steering box must be taken down and disassembled takes about 3 hours of work.

Someone else added two silicone rings to the bushings. . Any idea, if there are supposed to be any gasket rings in the bushings?

The original bushing has no rings and this bushing is mounted without rings.

It depends on the model of the bush, some are used with o-rings, others without. Megane 2 comes without rings, Toyota Rav 4 comes with rings for example.

Hi… I’ve got the same thing that needs replacing, I haven’t removed the old one yet. But the problem I think I’m going to encounter is finding a replacement part due to the age of the vehicle, it’s a 1982 Bedford CF 280 van (ex-ambulance) so yep, 40 years old. What I want to ask you, or anyone who reads this, is would it be okay to get a replacement 3D printed if I can’t find an ‘off the shelf’ part? Cheers : )

Hello. I do not recommend making the bushing with a 3D printer, because of the shocks the printed layers will come off, it is best to make it from polyamide.

I found out that Bedford never actually supplied the bushings as a spare part, and so was seriously considering the 3D printing option, but miraculously I found a complete reconditioned steering rack on EBay. Because I’m giving the vehicle a really good health check for its final mot I thought it best to treat it to the ‘new’ rack. Just out of curiosity, how would I have made the bushing from polyamide? Would it be the case of forming a mould?

I make bushings from polyamide bar for any car model on the lathe, but a steering box is needed to be able to take all the necessary dimensions and the most important thing is to check the bushing on the box at the end. I have put up for sale on Ebay several models of bushings. Now I'm looking for a Daihatsu Terios box to make the bushing and I can't find this car model in Romania, I think I'll buy a box on Ebay to make it for this car model as well.@@FUNKINETIK

A bushing made in a mold will not have the same hardness as polyamide. At the moment I make bushings for about 90 car models, after making each bushing is mounted on the steering box and checked.

Hi, I changed the bushing in a modus, it's a Megane 2 bushing, I think it fits your bushing too, if the Megane 2 can be changed on the car without removing the steering box, it should also work for you. If you manage to remove the entire bushing without breaking it directly on the car, you can mount it yourself.

My bush kit changed. But steering not coming to centre position while turning, service centre say i need to ride 100,200 km then it will be ok. Is it normal?

If the bushing is tighter, it is normal for the steering wheel to return to its normal position, but it will return after a few thousand km.@@artatulsharma8813

It means that your bushing is too tight, that's why the steering wheel doesn't come back completely, it's not normal, but in a few thousand km it will grind and it will go normally.@@artatulsharma8813

Bucsa se schimba fara a da jos caseta, este caseta mecanica deci nu are ulei in interior.
