Guys…there are literally long reach needle nose pliers (angled 40 degrees) that make removing the unscrewed sensor a 2 second task. You can also use a metal coat hanger to unclip the tab. Also use a small 2 to 3 inch piece of garden hose (insert plastic end of sensor into hose- it’s a snug fit) to give yourself the ability to insert the sensor and make it finger tight (literally fingertip tight as that’s all you’ll fit in there) before wrenching it down to 15lbs. You’ll also find you get a little more room by removing the rubber seal along the windshield cowl. This is a 30 minute job with the right “tools”.

I finished the sensor relocation on my 2003 C5 today. I did this job about 4 years ago but I didn't install the extender. So, here we are again. (I bought the extender hose with fittings on Amazon for $99). I didn't want to disturb more than necessary and I didn't want to drill any holes. I did not remove anything except the plastic engine cover. Although it was a royal pain in the butt, I was able to disconnect the old sensor and pull it out. For me, the hardest part was threading the extender hose into the engine. I could not get the threads lined up while rotating the hose. I had my son come over and somehow he got it threaded on his first try. 8-) Now, my oil pressure gage no longer thinks it's a windshield wiper. It was continuously slamming full scale and back to zero. Now it sits rock steady at 42 PSI at cold idle. If (when?) this new sensor fails, it will be very easy to replace it.

The other videos made it look simple, 4 or 5 hours this way you may as well remove intake, thanks for laying out in real time. I know it even more difficult with Dad over your shoulder 👍🏼👍🏼

I changed mine by removing the intake manifold, was pretty easy and worth the extra time. Also, change manifold gaskets and replace knock sensors while in there!

Glad to have found this video. Now I’m not sure if maxed out oil pressure gage is worth the hassle. Lol

You dont have to completely remove the fuel rail you can lean it toward the windshield fluid tank

Guys, guys, guys... It is soo much easier to remove the intake manifold bolts and a few other fasteners. Just slide the manifold forward a couple inches and be done with it. Never changed the gaskets. Did this in less than 45 minutes. No issues afterwards. 68K miles and pressure issue fixed. Best of luck. Was too painful to watch the entire video.

Hi my c5 gives low oil since a few weeks. I checked the oil but nothibg wrong/enough oil. Also is the tempeture rising higher but drives all fine Is this also a sensor problem?

On ours the reading went to zero and it wasn't reading anything at all. If your sensor is reading something it is functioning. I would suspect its something else
