How to change the fuel filter on a 1997 Nissan Hardbody. Not too hard of a job, hardest part is getting the bottom hose clamp off, Nissan uses a strange hose clamp from factory as well. This is one the I4 Ka24 2.4L.

What state is the truck in? If it’s out of the rust belt it’s worth a solid 2,500-4,000 dollars depending on condition of everything

@@gabeguadan truck is in Central Maryland I don't see much rust on it at all and the frame appears to be good from what I can see inside of the bed is very clean it has a cap on it

I have a bad habit of looking at trucks that don't belong to me so after about the third or fourth time looking at it which would include opening the doors in the hood I went back one day to see the truck not there so apparently someone he knew must have tipped him off and said there's somebody been snooping around your truck you better move it and sure enough he did.

Hey dude i have a 97 Nissan hardbody as well and recently I’ve been driving it at high speed in 5th gear and then all of a sudden lose acceleration even with pedal to the metal. I pull over and try to pull out again in 1st and then the car struggles to go forward and jerks as if losing drive or ability to go forward. Eventually started to overheat. I researched it and it said maybe could Be a fuel filter problem. I’ve been told by my shop I need to replace it but when I brought it in for this problem they couldn’t find anything wrong. Should have taken out that fuse first and started it up and ran it before you took the air filter off....

Vacuum leak

If you have a vacuum tester tap into the brake booster line or wherever you can get vacuum and check for a consistent reading at idle, should be around 19 in of hG but don’t quote me just look for a steady reading. If the needle is bouncing around you’re gonna have to use brake clean or intake cleaner and spray very little amounts near all the vacuum line connections and listen for a surge in rpm. Be careful as intake cleaner is flammable lol

If not a vacuum leak you’ll need to check for fuel pressure and compare it to spec with key on and running. If it’s lower than spec it’s either a restricted fuel system or bad fuel pump(most likely).
