@DivineSpeed2 жыл бұрын
Yes, if the regulator is not holding pressure, the engine will not start. Best way to check is with a fuel pressure gauge.

Do you think it could have been the split vacuum connection? It looks bad.
@DivineSpeed6 жыл бұрын
Cliff Sommerville oh possibly but this regulator was actually bypassed because I was using a boost reference regulator. I had decided to use this intake on another engine and had to change regulators because I had purposely destroyed the original to allow fuel to pass through it. So there's a bit of a back story with that intake and regulator. It's been around.

Whats the difference between the vacuum tube being on the side like yours and the ones with it on the top of the regulator? Mine has the tube on top but my vacuum line doesn't stay on due to it having that orientation. If theres no difference then i will gladly order one with the tube on the side as its much easier to work with cheap parts but id like to get it right the first time.
@DivineSpeed Жыл бұрын
As far as I know, there's no difference. The only key thing to worry about would be making sure it makes the correct pressure.

There is a difference the one with the hose out the side, as it sits...is a smaller dia tip-short pipe...the one with the tip-short pipe sticking up the top, as it sits...has a larger diameter by like 2mm...and sadly costs more...leave it to GM-Chevy to have this horseshit design :(. Im getting conflicting reports some mechanics say its part of the fuel pump assembly in the fuel tank. Advanced auto parts online says may not fit and it looks like that one.
@22kpar1xcyberdyne95 жыл бұрын
Never trust the people who work at auto part stores. They are basically the same retarded people who work at McDonalds. No training and no mechanical knowledge, so if a part isnt in their computer system they truly believe that the part does not exist. Lastly a fuel pump does not have a regulator in the tank. It must rely upon engine vacuum to work and there are no vacuum lines running to any fuel tank.
@coyote3115 жыл бұрын
Some of them are in the fuel pump assembly and some are on the fuel rail line. Pretty simple to check and see if you have a vacuum hose that goes to it on the rail. If you do not see this in plain view on the rail then odds are its in the pump and you have to take the pump out to get to it.

So, Question, I need that rubber part that goes on the pressure regulator, where can I buy that? I am not finding them online, maybe a junk yard or a dealer? @DivineSpeed4 жыл бұрын
I can see it causing a misfire if the fuel pressure is low while the engine is running. It really needs the designed base pressure of 58 psi. It would be like it is running out of gas.

@DivineSpeed4 жыл бұрын
This was actually on my racecar. I had gutted the factory fuel pressure regulator so that it would bypass the factory piece and go straight to an aftermarket regulator. However, typically they start to fail when you have to cycle the key a couple of times to get fuel pressure built up before you start it. They like to bleed off the fuel making it harder to start.
