Great video, pitched at the level that non-technical people need. I think it would be helpful to include the necessary removal from the new cartridge of the sticker over the air vent; I've come across instances where users haven't done this, with the result that the cartridge soon stops working.

Can you change just the Black cartridge and leave the other original cartridges in? Do you have to take all four out and put the back in or can you just pull the black straight out? Do you recommend buying a cheap cartridge off eBay or proper at the shop, what is the difference? Cheers!

Hello Blake , you can just take out the black and leave the others in. I would recommend a good quality compatible cartridge. If you choose very cheap ones , I am afraid that usually they are not good for the printer. We sell good quality compatible ink cartridges on 118ink.com and we ship all over the world. Replacing the ink in my former Canon multi-function centre was a matter of open and change, bam - done. This Epson is a pain after the Canon. Thanks for the step by step - it's not intuitive. Next time I'll buy another Canon, which was better in every aspect.

good video but you forgot to mention what to do with the new ink cartridges ie. shaking them, where not to touch them and peeling off the yellow plastic tab

You should never shake as that will cause bubbles. You can touch anything you like basically and yes remmove the yellow tape.

I have a question I hope you can help me with. I have the Epson XP-440 and I NEVER use the colored ink, only black. To my shock, a warning came up yesterday saying the Cyan color was almost depleted. I know the none of the colors will print unless all the cartridges have ink in them. Is this some kind of glitch in the computer chip on the Cyan ink cartridge. I shouldn't have to spend money on ink I never use. Thank you!

Have you tried turning it on and off ? It’s very difficult to say if it’s faulty or not when I can’t actually see it. When you turn it on and off I would unplug it from the mains for at least 20 minutes. I hope this helps.
