I have a 2018 440i Coupe and think I’ll get the M340i next. The only thing I don’t like is the digital display have the back to front arc of the tachometer. I much prefer the traditional shape of the dials in my digital display!

Have to agree with all these comments. New z4 owner. Not a fan of the instrument cluster. Good thing is its just software. BMW please offer classic gauges.

Hi BMW, please give the rounded gauges option. They are much much more readable that these uggly dials. And also the possibility to display oil pressure and temperature permanently as a widget. It is ma 5th BMW 3 serie and I am definitely a big BMW fan. However I am so disappointed by this digital display. I am a computer scientist so why have you developed half of the features ?

My Audi A4 has a beautiful virtual cockpit that puts this BMW design to shame. Yes round gauges and the ability to put it in dark or light mode.. satellite view etc… That’s one for Audi ☝🏼

I know right. It's like media players on computers in the late 90s and early 2000s. There should be so many options available to download for visuals but manufacturers are cheap as hell, and don't like letting customization unless they control it themselves vs letting outside people customize it at all.

I don't have option REDUCEED MODE on my 2020 G20 in the instrument cluster menu, but when I'm enter vehicle whit my key, car automatically display instrument cluster in that REDUCE MOD. How can I disable that function? I don't want that REDUCED MODE THEME.

The instrument cluster on 2022 bmw 540 lacks the desired feature of rounded gauges option, the digital feature is not as desirable as analog instrument cluster.

Very informative review thank you so much. Question, my 2021 X3 is reading infinite L/100km when I am fully stopped. This happened this morning since I reset the trip monitor after fueling up because I wanted to have an accurate idea of how many km I do on a full tank in the city. As soon as I reset my trip monitor, the car is reading 22+L/100km on my EcoPro gauge (digital dashboard) - My average fuel economy is 9.8L/100km, and after sitting at a stop sign for about 2 minutes it went up to around 20L/100km and fluctuated once I began to drive. Is this normal? Should I expect to see more accurate fuel ratings as I drive or should I be taking my car in for service?

When I ordered my 540, I did not realize the car lacks a spare tire. The run-flat tires only work for a few miles. Good luck finding a repair shop if driving through Death Valley.

I have just bought a new Z4 M40i 2022 - I love everything about my first BMW BUT I ABSOLUTELY HATE the Instrument Cluster! Who the h....l designed this junk. It's looks like a 1990's video game. I look at my wife 's beautiful ROUND dials ( all software ) on her AMG A35 and wonder how did I end up with a toy town display - IT IS JUST SOFTWARE BMW - GIVE ME THE OPTION TO SELECT A PROFESSIONAL SET OF DIALS AND I BET IT WILL BE THE FIRST THING EVERY DEALER AND OWNER WILL SETUP.

Please provide, more dial design options. What you guys have done is a disgrace!!! Give at least the option to change it. That's what a driver sees the most. Most of the cluster options are basically useless, sad to say. BMW software design engineers are obviously out of the loop and seem stuck in a time continuum loop of reto.

When I am following nav instruction and a call comes in, it obliterates the map!!! This is dangerous and can cause an accident. Why would a phone call ever be more important than the nav? In a city this situation is unacceptable . I looked at the instrument cluster and hope I can remedy this but it's a terrible function, you don't suddenly get rid of directions.
