Good detailed vid. You can buy 14mm Ali sump plug crush washers on eBay also. I torque my sump plug & filter housing to 24 nm so not to over tighten, bust your plastic filter housing.Oil filter cartridge can go in either way. I have the 6speed diesel Sportage.

I actually tried to rig up a catch can for it but I just couldn't find a way to get it installed which bummed me out big time. just no room to get the plumbing and the catch can in there. can't find any kits for this engine either.

I’ve had an oil change done and now the low oil pressure light keeps coming on temporarily and then goes off for a few days then back on again. I’ve checked the levels and it seems ok, top of the fill line? Is there a sensor that may have been knocked loose anywhere as nothing obvious is evident, there seems to be plenty of oil?

Oil filter and fuel filter are separate.

The hole in a new filter is somewhat smaller than the little fitting in the base of the filter housing - how do people overcome this?

Hi Walter - you need to push the new filter onto the base of filter housing. It is designed to be a tight fit. push it on and it will open up to the correct size.

I have a CRDI tucson too but i change the oil and the filter every 8000kms or 12 months whichever comes first i want to use it for long term is it ok to change it after 12 months or six months?

If you do a lot of short trips you should change your oil and filter every 6 months as short trips don't allow the oil to heat up enough to burn off any contaminants in the oil (e.g. moisture). If your car gets a good run every now and then you should be fine to leave it for 12 months.

Why do I have the nagging feeling that every time I take the car back to the warranty service and ask for an oil change they just conveniently skipping that if they don't feel like it. Whenever I check the oil after the service I only find some black sludge on the dipstick. Thank you for this great video, I will just do it myself, I guess.

15,000km is madness. I believe that kia says to replace the diesel filter every 40,000km or 50,000km and even that is crazy
