My CTS has a engine shield guard. Would that need to be removed? I recently got an oil change and now the shield is hanging off 2 weeks later.

Are you talking about underneath the engine? If so, yes, that needs to be removed when doing an oil change. Mine was already gone when I bought the car. What usually happens is when you take it to get an oil change, the lube techs never put all the screws back in. It happens all the time. That’s probably why yours is hanging.

Thanks for the response. Thankfully the shield was still in one piece, so a local garage reattached it for free.

Exactly why I change my own oil. Oil changer places do sloppy work.
