It's a little time-consuming but it's better than overpaying a mechanic to do it for you. Thank you for your time on making these videos.

Thanks Matt. Back in the day I rode single Utah track with the owner of your company. One time we were riding devils racetrack and I had a flat rear which caused me to shred the tube. I tried to get it patched before anyone noticed I wasn't there but the tube was too far gone. Your boss pulled a tube from his backpack and I used it to finish a epic ride, although a bit embarrassed I was only carrying a repair kit, but have always tried to source from you guys even before then.

Good video. Except you do not have to remove the driver seat frame. Just use the seat adjustment lever and pull the seat forward. That gives you enough room to remove the cover.

Please note! When you remove the oil filter cover, oil will pour out under the engine and through holes in the plastic skid plate and onto the floor. I didn't realize how much oil there was until it was too late. Word to the wise, put a wide drain pan below the engine to catch the oil, and after 15 minutes or so, clean the top of the skid plate (from the inside) with an old rag or paper towels, as there will be quite a bit of oil sitting there. The good news is the oil plug for the rear diff & transmission (now one assembly) is the same size as the engine oil drain plug and just as easy to drain and refill. The engine oil capacity is 2.1 quarts and the transmission/rear diff is 1.5 quarts. I used Mobil Delvac 1 ESP 5W40 synthetic engine oil and Valvoline SynPower 75W140 synthetic gear oil for the trans/diff.

It can be a bit tricky to get it right but let us know if this works for you. 1. Select park 2. Turn on the ignition . Do not start engine (Steps 3-9 must be completed within 5 seconds) 3. Press and hold the override switch 4. Press and release the brake pedal 5. Release the override switch 6. Press and release the brake pedal 7. Press and hold the override switch 8. Press and release the brake pedal 9. Release the override switch 10. Turn ignition switch off Do all of this within 5 seconds and the notification will clear. Do not turn the ignition switch back on before the gauge turns off.

Piss Trooper007 it's a trail model so it's detuned from everything else in their line. Now that's said, it has some pretty good get up and go. I put 30" tires on and it still motors. I bought mine for the tighter trails i tend to run and wanted ground clearance. So i got the power to turn the bigger tires, have many ground clearance and can still fit 50" trails.

By chance, have you done an oil change video for the Maverick Trail integrated transmission/rear diff? My understanding is that this is a new design for BRP, since previous machines use separate transmission and rear diff components, so the oil change procedure will be different.

I bought your oil filters for my CanAm Maverick Trail 1000 DPS. Now, after watching this video, I realize I need the Oil Filter "O" ring and "Crush Washer" for the drain plug. Can I order these separately? If so, please include their respective part numbers. Thanks, Woody

You're seeing the shipping oil burn off if it's brand new. Probably smells terrible too. That's normal. Get some miles on it and burn that stuff off.

How many miles or hrs do I get my first oil change?
@rmatvmc
@rmatvmc 4 жыл бұрын
Can-Am doesn't normally give a break-in oil change interval but only recommends changing the oil every 100 hours or 2,000 miles, whichever one comes first. Changing the oil early on the first service is not a bad idea but you can also contact your to see if they have a recommendation for the first oil change.

It would be way more helpful if you'd show EXACTLY where the drain plug is, rather than wasting time telling people why they would change oil. The space between the engine and the bash plate gets jam packed with muddy grass, and it would be nice to know which hole I need to clean out. Now that I've watched your video, I guess I'll just go out there and feel around. Thanks. Also, the engineers that made it so you have to remove the interior to change oil need to be kicked in the nuts till they die.

You should be able to see where the drain bolt is located at 1:26 in this video. But thank you for the input and we'll try to show this step more clearly in the future. Thanks for checking out the video!

Hi Matt - great video with lots of good & helpful info! A question to you (or any readers/followers): Have any of you removed the 'side panel' on a 2018 Maverick Trail 1000DPS? I;m trying to install a four point harness system and am having difficulty getting the 'side panel' 'loosened' in order to get to a couple of existing seat belt bolts. The downloaded CanAm directions for PN's 715004234 & 715004235 say, ""Remove screws and unclip only the front part of the rear side panel." I've got the obvious screws/bolts out, but am not finding any 'clips' to 'unclip.' As a result, the rear side panel is still feeling very well secured to the machine. Any suggestions?
