Good vid! I just bought a used 2019 1000r with 400 miles and 22 hours. When I slowly take off in high, it sounds like the clutch is clunking on engagement. Normal?
@EscapePowerSports4 жыл бұрын
hard to say without seeing the machine and never having had one that new. but do a quick search on the commander forums as I think I've heard the term "commander clunk" thrown around on there, But I think that might be referring the rear u-joint, not positive on that though. Sorry I couldn't be of more help on this and enjoy that 1000r, its a beast. Cheers

Ok, as one who my brother-in-laws would tease as I am not the most mechanically skilled.. mostly because my garage is not that of an auto mechanic, I’m wondering if you have done or will do a belt replacement on the Commander. As easy as you make an oil change look I think I would take great comfort in your approach to changing a belt... Oh, I like beer(s) two... I mean too!
@EscapePowerSports4 жыл бұрын
haha no worries there, we're all learning when it comes to working these machines ourselves. And absolutely I almost did last spring, but ended up selling the machine before we had time to make a belt video. Will definitely add it to my list for next time we get a commander in. Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a video suggestion in the comments. Cheers

Would this be the same process for a 4 seater
@EscapePowerSports3 жыл бұрын
It would likely be very similar the only difference is you would probably be removing the rear passenger seat and working in the back instead of the front. Check out this oil change video we did on a maverick max: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oWW0oZ6JlLCHZ6s and see if that helps. What is the torque spec.on the beadlock rims in ft.lbs please
@EscapePowerSports4 жыл бұрын
So I did a little research and this is what I found so this first set of torque values is for the nuts going around the beadlock wheels and not for the lug nuts that hold the entire wheel to the hub. 1st series- 3Nm or 27in/lbs= ONLY 2.21 FOOT LBS 2nd series- 8Nm or 71in/lbs= ONLY 5.9 FOOT LBS 3rd series- 11Nm or 97in/lbs= ONLY 8.11 FOOT LBS But if we are talking about securing the wheel to the hub I believe the torque specs for the lug nuts to be around 74 Foot Lbs. Hope this helps, thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a question in the comments, Cheers

Are all side by sides this much trouble just to change the oil and filter? Do you always have to take so much shit apart?
@EscapePowerSports5 жыл бұрын
Some are easier, I imagine some are worse, its really only a pain in the ass the first time you do it, then fairly quick and easy every time after that. But the longer it takes the more cash we save by doing it ourselves so I guess there's a silver lining haha. Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a comment. Cheers
@knelson27564 жыл бұрын
It’s just the ‘13-‘18 Mavericks and Defenders. The RZR’s and Wildcats are much easier to work on. I do agree that it gets easier, but it’s still a pain in the ass especially when you need to access the engine compartment on the go. On the Wildcats you just flip up a lid between the seats and the oil filter and drain plug are right there. I sure hope BRP redesigned this with the new model Maverick and Commander

Why do the oil filters look different? Shouldn't the second filter have a rubber gasket on it like the one you took out?

I'm saying thats a 3-4 beer minimum job because those look like 16 oz or even 24 oz. Just saying for accuracy, hate someone to bring two little 12 oz beers and be shit out of luck half way through.
@EscapePowerSports5 жыл бұрын
Lots of factors to consider here... brand of beer, body weight, tolerances, spillage, bottle, can or glass, and of course as you very accurately point out serving amounts.. I think the important thing for us to remember is its typically best to have and not need, as opposed to the alternative. So lets all agree to play it safe and start saving for a strictly beer fridge, for every mans garage, to ensure we get the job done. cheers, thanks for watching and commenting

My question is does this vehicle requires antifreeze like a car ?
@EscapePowerSports4 жыл бұрын
yes it does, 50/50 brp makes antifreeze, but I've used a variety of products from engine ice to dex cool as I believe they work well with these aluminum engines. You should be able to see the reservoir to fill it up under right hand front fender and access the cap to fill it by removing the access panel "hood" Should try and keep it between the min and max marks on the little tank. Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a question, hope this helps. Cheers

Hell yeah, thanks for the suggestion. I've never seen one that needed plugs, but the book says every 200 hours or 100 hours under "severe" conditions to replace the plugs. So I definitely should learn the procedure for this machine and make a video. sometimes there a real PITA, i use a cheap pop rivet remover I found on amazon (like a set of pliers but with kind of sharp claws on each side) and it makes removing them infinitely easier. Here's a link to the ones I use amzn.to/3dlvfQg Maybe give em a shot and see if it goes smoother on the next one? if going with screw driver method the bigger the flat head the easier it is, but they do tend to snap on occasion.
