I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels this way, but your videos are excellent, informative, and you are an excellent speaker. Thank you for them. Please tell anyone that needs to hear it that your videos are the reason I order parts from Vespa Motorsports.

For the pouring the oil I found using a clear hose attached to the funnel works great if you have that lying around.

Very similar to my 1st gen Piaggio Fly 150, only diff being the removeable skirt. I didn't know to run it and then check level again at the end or the time frames for checking/changing/topping off either.

It is very strange Vespa specs JASO oil.... It is NOT a wet clutch motor. JASO leaves out the friction modifiers. That this engine could certainly use. Excellent video, Robot

In regards to the oil change intervals, here in Taiwan R.O.C its mandatory to change every 1000 km. If you don’t comply your warranty will be voided, which doesn’t make sense.....

Hey Robot, can I use 50 grade oil in my 300gts in the summer months?
@donaldlee6760 Жыл бұрын
At 20:38 - assuming regular or doubled (every 3k miles) oil changes, is the median lifespan of the Vespa engine 50k to 75k miles? I ask because I've never personally run across a 75k mile example. I'd assume other than the engine, the body and remainder of the scooter could easily go well past 100k miles in a drier climate away from salt.

Great video (again), Robot. Question: I'm about to take delivery of a 2022 SuperTech, and I'll be switching to the sight-glass-equipped oil pan at the first (600mi) scheduled service. The same company that makes the oil pan *also* makes a special hose assembly that replaces the oil cap/dipstick and rins up into the engine bay, ostensibly to make oil-filling less of a pain. Even assuming the hose line is sturdy/leakproof, is there any potential problem in regard to oil pushing into the hose from the crankcase, "starving" the engine of oil? (Yes, the bike is going to see a fair amount of highway use, at highway speeds.)

Hi.. Should it be 5w40 or 10w40 depending on the country? I live in Turkey in a temperate country and I have not used the winter season. I only use it between April and October. Which should it be 5w or 10w? How many minutes after turning off the engine should the oil be changed? How do we know that we have emptied all the dirty oil?

What is the temperature range in Spain. In San Diego very seldom do they have extremely cold below zero Celsius the proper oil viscosity is determined by two factors the bearing clearances in the engine and the temperature range outside . So the perfect oil in one location can be very bad in another location .
@loewe73 жыл бұрын
@@theoldman8877 temperature rate here In the winter average 12till20 degrees summer between 25till30
@theoldman88773 жыл бұрын
@@loewe7 that is very middle range. Both not that hot nor is it very cold. Where I live it goes -20 c to 40 c making oil selection more difficult and it changes the way you treat the vehicles on cold morning or hot afternoons. I had an acquaintance that had a Porch 911 we hade a early snow fall in the mountains. He went skiing the next morning early aboard 4:30 AM he tryed to start the car. It wouldn't crank over at all . He knew the battery was new and that the entire system was checked out completely just two days before he left. So he pulled the dipstick. His oil looked more like heavy grease than any thing. So he had to get a pan and charcoal, he built a fire in the pan and pit it under his engine to warm it up . He was late to work because of the time required to get it warmed up enough to start. He was in some trouble because this happened in the middle of the week his mother-in-law was in management at the business where he worked and he had been given special time off to take care of a family problem he was not supposed to be going skiing . I was lollollol at him .

It’s not that hard to fill the oil. Remove the under seat compartment so you have access to the engine. It’s nearly a straight shot to the oil dipstick with a simple gel I funnel. Perfect every time!

Robot you did one thing that I would never do. You removed the stealing film from the oil filter before you were ready to install it. I leave it in place until ready to spin it on . This way I know that nothing has gotten into the filter.
