@@hellorc7678 I did tires - that is a big help, of course. I swapped to the 12% overdrive as you see in this video, but really think it could use more. Hot Racing and KNK both offer a 25% overdrive gear set. Next, I am going to investigate some brass for the front and possibly the IFS system they offer. Move the stock shocks around also, that lowers the truck quickly and free!

After a certain point of vertical incline the weight distribution is disproportionately on the rear end, making the front biased distribution preform as it did.. That's why test 1 seemed worse while 2&3 were much easier.

It comes with 5%, and in this video I try swapping for the 12%. You can see in this video the overdrive I did on my SCX10iii - which would be the same as your Capra: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Zp_SpoesZdZmbc0 And here you can see where I did it to my TRX4: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nae6lHxvnd6oe68 I do highly recommend it. Agree - I really do like OD. I am not sure if 5% is plenty, of if we really need more than +6% to really see a difference. According to feedback from the Element RC Facebook group, it appears most folks use aftermarket gears to get to 25%.

(9:34) Possibly the guys telling you to "be careful of running too much overdrive" are running (their) rigs with 7-1/2 pounds to 10 or so pounds of "serious" crawler weight !!! 🤔..... ??? (Or not). I just picked-up the GMADE (GS02F) with a (stock) 14.29% overdrive in 1st gear only, and is changeable to 22% or just to "zero%" O.D. When shifting into 2nd gear, the ratio is (1 to 1) !!! 😁👍 ***BUT***.....I am a little worried about reversing "aggressively" with a say.....HOLMES HOBBIES CRAWLMASTER PRO !!!! Cuz of the amount of power & torque that can some- times (accidently) cause drivetrain breakages, or differential-gear breakdown, I think I will keep my (stock) motor & esc for awhile longer, until I see this GMADE (GS02F) drivetrain & (specifically) the 2-SPEED transmission....."hold-up" to the torque & power of these HOLMES MOTORS, with this overdrive factor involved !!? 🤔.....not sure, yet.....!! - Hey guy, I really appreciate your video, and look forward to more good videos, with details, like this one !!! 👍😁🤘 💪🇺🇸

Thanks Paul for the detailed comment! Your thought on the weight might make sense. I'd be curious to know. I've driven one Gmade. The driveline seemed strong, and I ran a Holmes motor. Still, anything can break when used inappropriately!

I'm not agreeing with you on this one. I have the knightrunner with the 6% overdrive and it drives very good and have a nice and good turning radius. Love how it drives even though Im only driving trail. I also have a Utron without overdrive and i can clearly see and feel it's missing some turning radius compared to the knightrunner. So I want the 6% in it to. So you say 11-12% is better. There I think you a bit wrong at least in my opinion. See I have a Axial SCX 10 III with 12% in the front. It differently has a good turning radius I agree on that. But when it comes to trial I can see the front tire constantly is digging and the rear tire is constantly dragging like the handbrake is on. Is very annoying and the tires are being worn down way faster this way. This you will not see on a rc with only 6% So Yes good turning radius. And it helps a bit when crawling over stuff. But that's it. I would be very happy if there was a 6% for Axial.

It all depends on how folks drive and where they drive. In my area, and with my driving - it helps a lot. Look at a lot of comp builds - those folks use 35%+ overdrive. These are the folks who spend HOURS AND HOURS finding ever last benefit they can. You think they would all run overdrive if it didn't help? Before you judge- give it a try yourself!
