How to change the rocker arms on a KTM SMC 690 and adjust the valve clearance

Perfect, just bought a KTM 690 SMC R, Evo 1 map and runs like a dream. But it got 18.000km on it so soon it's time for the big service, was thinking about leaving it to a shop. Not anymore tho, big up, thanks! 👍🏼

Hi Erik, that's great - I also love the SMC! And it is one of the greatest feelings to more and more understand the ins and outs of the own bike. If you don't have one yet try to get a repair manual. Hi, I just checked the email and the online shop didn't use the original KTM parts numbers. But here's a website where you can find all the OEM KTM parts numbers: www.bike-parts-ktm.com/ktm-motorcycle I hope that helps 👍

I broke them last week and mechanic said the oil was on spark and camshaft....is it possibile? Should I have to check the throttle body?

Hi Matteo, that's annoying. I unfortunately don't know if that's possible. Sorry I can't help with that specific issue. For us everything worked well with the 701 after we finished the repair.

My KTM dealer says the updated rocker arms should be replaced every 25,000 km.

Hi Ivan, thanks for asking. I've just moved to Norway and had to find a place to work on the bike. Now I'm collecting the last bits and pieces that I need for the wiring and then I'm ready to build the wiring harness. To be honest, I think it might be mid to end of October. Sorry for the wait. 😔 I also can't wait to continue the build. What do you think of the supermoto content? Would appreciate your feedback.
