How to change the spark plugs on a 2007 Vstar 1300

In this video, I change the spark plugs on my 2007 Yamaha Vstar 1300 Tourer. I TRIED TORQUING THEM TO 9 FOOT POUNDS BUT WAS AFRAID THAT IT WOULD STRIP THE THREADS. I was using a cheap Harbor Freight torque wrench. I really need up upgrade to a better one. Also, I'm using a different microphone. If the sound is bad, let me know. Looking at doing this pretty soon, thanks for the handy video, this'll help! (Love how it's setup so you can easily scratch your tank eh?) I usually put a strip of electrical tap along there to protect it till I'm done.

Thanks for watching! I got the fairing from Memphis Shades. I really like it. If you have a 1300, make sure that you get the Fork Deflectors also.

@@wonkster1970 yes 1300 Tourer in two tone silver. Lost a cylinder and figure it’s plugs, so instead of ripping a bunch of unnecessary stuff apart I went straight to Google or KZbin to save time. Watched your video and noticed fairing right away! Looks awesome and video is spot on! Couldn’t find a lot of aftermarket parts for quite awhile for that model.

Did you notice a performance change from old to new plugs?

I noticed a slight performance change. Not a lot after changing the plugs.

I used the spark plug socket that was in the motorcycle tool kit. I'll see if it has a size on it.
