Thanks for the vid. As a tip, to start the new plugs in the head, cut a 6" long piece of vacuum tubing and slip it over the electrode. You get great feel that way for getting the plug start. Once you give it a full turn, just pull it off the plug. I learned this years back from a marine tech working in really tight spaces.

Excellent tutorial thank you. I would've used a little anti seize on the plug also a little silicone grease in the plug boot will aid in keeping moisture out and easier to remove the socket from the plug. Have a great day.
@peterpiekarski49106 жыл бұрын
It's not recommended to use antiseize on alot of new style plugs

I had a backfiring issue after adjusting the plug gap with that round gauge. (Garbage, throw it out) it set the gap too narrow causing a weak spark causing unburned fuel to re ignite in the exhaust. Use a proper feeler gauge to set the gap.

It is easy to start a plug with a few inch long piece of fuel line. I always keep a couple different sizes in with my tools.

You should always blow around the plug with compressed air to make sure there is no dirt that can fall into the cylinder.

I have oil in my spark plug. My bike has been popping. I took it for just an oil change and they decided to change my spark plugs and put something in the gas tank.. It hasn't been the same since. The spark plugs they put in, popped and my friend changed them out real fast, but didn't do the ring size thing I don't think.. Either way, its popping again and im sure if I change spark plugs again, there will be oil inside.. What's the issue?? I'm not sure, maybe carburetor cleaning or replacing I'm not sure.
@Byrds19674 жыл бұрын
Sounds like you have a lot of problems. Take the bike to a Yamaha dealer to find out why there's oil in the plugs. My bike pops a lot too. I could probably adjust the carb, but it's never really bothered me that much.

Your bike should be popping. It's running too rich or lean, I forget, but either way have it looked at.

@@derfskittlers6125 Thanks.. It seems a little better, but idk. They want a lot of money for things and they aren't even sure. I'm kinda afraid seeing the last place did all this extra stuff I didn't say to do.
