You wanna just change a spark plug? What you're gonna wanna do is start by dissembling the entire bike. After you do that, you simply disassemble the engine and that's it.

***** I'm sure your going to have a blast coming from the 250! And thanks for the sub! Ill look into just doing an air filter removal if you'd like but in the meantime: With the tank removed you just need to unscrew the 8 phillips head screws that surround the airbox and lift off the cover. The filter is then held in by another single screw. Once removed you can either replace the filter or clean it if you have a K&N one etc.

I'm having trouble taking the cool packs out, any ideas. I can twist it but only very slightly with pliers to grip it. I can pull them out and it's frustrating
@Out4aRip8 жыл бұрын
The first time is always the worst. Becomes way easier with subsequent changes. I wouldn't recommend using pliers though as I'd be worried about damaging the coil. With the air box removed and the connection removed, it comes down to just wiggling it up while twisting it back and forth a bit. Wear gloves or something to add grip if needed... also to protect your knuckles cause when that thing does come out you are most likely going to smack the back of your hand lol. Not sure if there is a good coil removal tool you could use to add leverage safely though without damaging anything.
@jamieliu20878 жыл бұрын
ill give it a good go when i take the tank and air box back off next time. its a bugger alright

Great vid although it looks a ball ache just to change the plugs . Are the plugs gap preset ? 👍🏻
@Out4aRip8 жыл бұрын
+ChuckNinja Kawasaki I checked the gap prior to installing and they were correctly set per the service manual. I may have gotten lucky? And as for the job itself.... all i can say is, the process does get a whole lot easier the more often you do it.

I had to replace my engine on my ninja 650r 2006 I mixed up the coils so I'm not sure which one goes where? I'm worried I'll mess up the firing sequence and I have searched to no end through every manual I could find every person I could call and the best I found was a black and white picture of the coils inserted into the bike... does anyone at all have any information on how to identify which coil goes where?
@Out4aRip7 жыл бұрын
I thought they were labeled but the bikes been in storage now for the winter for what feels like an eternity and i'm drawing a blank. I also thought the cable slack only allowed for a specific orientation but since you swapped engines things may be different with your cable management.
@ernieoriente25137 жыл бұрын
Well they are labeled I finally figured it out as for the cable slack there's no such thing with that bike haha they both have the same amount of length in wire so it's hard to tell that way but just above the sleeve they have their respective markings
