I just wanted to send a big 'thank you' for the vid. My son & I changed my daughter's valve cover gasket (keeeriest, getting that old valve cover gasket off the metal was a PITA), saving her a ton of $$$, and giving us some quality time together.

I appreciate channels like this. At first, the sound of replacing stuff like this seems tedious but in fact, it's not that hard, kind of a challenge but not impossible for a noob.

Doing this same project on my 06 tC. Just a tip on brittle hoses. If you just get the clamps moved back then unscrew the pvc valve leaving it connected to the hose and take the breather hose loose from the intake side the hose hasn’t been exposed to high heat from the head it will be more pliable and likely come of with out cracking the hoses. Tech tip from ole JB. Thanks for the video. It helped quite a bit for the first time of pulling a valve cover on a Toyota 4 cylinder.

Thank you for this video. I just finished replacing my valve gasket on my '06. Easy peasy. Probably saved a bunch of money. The old gasket came out in a dozen pieces. But no engine codes so far. 🎉

Thanks man. Just did this on my 09 tc. It was puddling oil on the header manifold there in the front! I have to constantly put oil in my car cause it burns oil real bad. It never leaked oil that I noticed on the ground, but recently noticed oil puddling on the header manifold! It cost me $32 for the gasket and $20 for a small bottle of that one second gasket goop. Thanks for your help! I love this little car so much! Just replaced strut and brakes and tires. Got at least 50,000 miles with no more major maintenance 😇

Mines doing this exact same thing. Just noticed it today so here I am lol gonna tackle the job this week
@Talonfrank124 күн бұрын
@ good luck with it! If you are lucky like I was, the center gasket that goes around where coil packs insert will still be intact so no oil will have leaked in that area. I was so nervous there was gonna be oil puddle in the bottom of each coil pack area. I cleaned my cover real well with brake cleaner and also did exactly like the guy said in the video, wiping away from the engine so that no debris would fall into the motor. I even had to scrub off the old goop from the last gasket repair that must have been done. So far so good!

@@victorandrade422 I ended up going to a local hardware shop called Ace. There they have spools of various diameters of hose as well as an assortment of clamps.. Cost less than a dollar. My apologies for the very late response as I'm sure you found a workaround by now. However, I hope this info may benefit you in the future with other similar needs.

The hoses you have to get from Toyota. I just bought both. One is the pcv hose and the other is a breather hose. Both need to be changed because they will be dry rotted and stiff so they will break
