Great video, I just did this job yesterday (01/14/25) and have a few observations: 1) I have no idea how you got the two bolts located at the bottom of the alternator out. I have an AC hard line that runs right by one of the bolts and after messing around with it I found it was just easier to drop the four bolts on the AC compressor which moved it and the hard line out of the way. Note: the compressor has notches at the top of the case that fit into notches on the block. It is possible to bolt it back in incorrectly! Make sure the top notches are in the proper location. 2) Once you have the PS pump and alternator out (or out of the way) now is the time to replace the tensioner and water pump if they are needed. The CRV I was working on (2007, 140K) had all original accessories, and everything was due for replacement. The tensioner bearing sounded horrible and upon pulling the old water pump I noted residue was starting to form in the weep hole. If you are going this far you might as well get the other items replaced.

Hey guys! Here in 2025. Just did this repair on a 2005 Odyssey Absolute and MAN does this show you everything. Aside from a few issues with AC lines, this applied pretty much IDENTICALLY. Thanks for the video! 🎉

Appreciate the vid, thank you! Not as difficult as it seems just time consuming. Managed to get it done in 4 hours with a buddy. Would have been 3 had it not been for one of the starter bolts being EXTREMELY stubborn! Really stupid design

I followed this video to successfully change all rotors and pads on my A6 c7 3.0 twin turbo diesel. For anyone else with this car please measure the old rotors before ordering replacements. Websites such as bendix told me my fronts are 345mm when actually they are 356 and Bendix didn’t make that size. I’m in Australia and chose DBA. Also all my rotors seemed original and were completely seized onto the hub. With wd40 and an ultra large removal tool that worked up to 370mm. Still stuck, until I gave a little tickle with a crow bar and off they popped. Wire wheeling the hub surface and applying anti seize should stop that from ever happening again. @jaes8173 - I didn’t need to do anything with scan tool except clear the brake wear warning. Warning did not come back as brake wear sensor was replaced as part of the job. I didn’t have the scan tool for putting rear electric brake in maintenance mode. I found a tool for a wrench that will “screw” the piston in for pad change.

Thankyou for this execllent video. I suspect my SAIS system is leaking exhaust back into my air intake of my 200 series. I can't really tell in the video but where is it the inlet for the SAIS? does it get its air straight from the air box?

My vent line is not built on to the hose. I have an 09 that has the vent line with two clamps on each end holding it on to the hose and the radiator. I have a few mice that decided to chew a hole in the vent line. Toyota wants to charge me almost $500 for labor. Why can’t I just replace it small section of vent line if the rest of the big hose is fine? I know nothing about cars but found your video informative. I wish I could add a photo.

It’s generally recommended to completely replace the oil filter housing/oil cooler assembly. When you don’t it’ll start leaking again, happened to me 😅Completely replacing it will permanently fix the issue.

What people go through to get these seals out. I finally round that a nail puller pry tool (like a screwdriver but with a bent fork at the end) worked. By jamming one end of the tool behind the metal part of the seal and using the camshaft end as a fulcrum I could pretty easily pop the thing off.
@workingTchr2 күн бұрын
This didn't work for my front Volvo camshaft seals. Either the seal wouldn't budge or the screw would tear out. What did work for me was a nail puller pry tool (looks like a screw driver from a distance). Prying one edge of it behind the metal part of the seal and using the end of the camshaft as a fulcrum, the thing popped right out.

Told my girlfriend that I could do it over the weekend , she took it to the shop on her off day and they charged $800 , through in some new spark plugs in the process and charged $285 to remove a broken bolt . How upset am I ? It’s not my car but definitely notice the lack of confidence I have around me to get things done . At this point It’s money that will later on be an issue .
