I have a 2014 ford fusion se with the 1.5 ecoboost turbo and it has this exact noise intermittently at idle or under load. Does not always do it and ford replaced the turbo thinking that was the issue. It's still doing it. The 1.5 does not have an exhaust manifold on the back like in the video. It has a small opening like one where the turbo bolts to the engine with a metal gasket in between. Could the block of this motor be warped where the turbo bolts to or is this somthing else??

Anybody that's watching this or you have an xi model they always tell you got to lift the motor you can get in there with a quarter inch Drive wobbly socket 6-point instead of a Torx socket you can use a 10 mm but 3/8 fits tighter there's always a way around these stupid bolts on these BMWs also works when you're dealing with the upper housing coolant leak

Guys, just go with the Ford mount on the engine side. I've done this job with aftermarket mounts, and they're nowhere near as good. The Ford one I believe is hydraulic and most (all?) others are solid rubber. Did the Ford one on sister's Focus and the difference was night and day, even though the aftermarket one I removed wasn't old and still looked in good condition. And the inserts that you have to bend the bracket into the aluminum casting? I just threw a brand new one I had in the basement in the trash. You can get the factory ones for much cheaper than the dealer, but still from the dealer. Search OEM Pro Parts or something like that. Ford has a deal with online companies. You get the part much cheaper online, and pick it up at a local dealer or you can have it shipped. e.g. I got the CAD $130-150 mount from the dealer for CAD $95 + tax picked up. They wouldn't give me the same deal if I bought it straight from the dealer. Crazy, but whatever.

Great video! At 10:55; I found it easier to remove the top alternator bolt first, then pivot the alternator towards the front of the vehicle. Gave me space to reach in and walk the lower bolt out. Did it in reverse to install the new alternator. Still was a tight squeeze but slightly more room to maneuver! Thank you Brian!
