Just finished this maintenance. Thank you for the EXCELLENT video! Perfectly done. For those with standard height trucks, I found it easiest to jack up from the driver's side to drain and from the rear axle to fill (if you can measure your oil exactly). Makes it easier if you have trouble getting under a standard height 100 like I do.

One oil 🛢 type for transfer case, front diff and rear diff is that correct?

Hi, thanks for watching. There are different oils specified for the differentials and transfer case - we have another video showing how to change the differential oils if you would like to check that out. Some vehicles come with a limited slip differential (LSD) which requires special additives in the oil to work properly, which should be considered. Transfer case - SAE 75W-90 API GL-4 or GL-5 multipurpose gear oil Front differential - 1.6L of SAE 90 or 80W-90 API GL-5 Hypoid gear oil Rear differential (with diff locker) - 3.2L of SAE 90 or 80W-90 API GL-5 Hypoid gear oil Rear differential (without diff locker) - 3.3L of SAE 90 or 80W-90 API GL-5 Hypoid gear oil (for LSD if applicable)

Can you tell me where the transmission oil dipstick is located?
@2ndGearLow

Hi Jesus, the 5 speed automatic transmission does not have a dipstick. This transmission is considered "sealed for life" and doesn't normally need fluid checking unless there is a leak or other problem. Hope this helps.

Would 85w90 be okay to use?

Hi ATC, Toyota specify to use 75W-90 and it is readily available. Given the transfer case oil doesn't get changed too often, we'd definitely recommend getting the correct fluid and doing it right the first time
