FYI the black 18in Long Neck funnel from Harbor Freight fits tightly OVER the dipstick tube and fills quickly. The 2009 manual notes filling via dipstick tube.

Thats a very good video. I have a question Can we fill the transmission using dip stick hole?
@rutterrealtygc11 ай бұрын
I’ve seen videos where people have done that… I didn’t really have the correct size tube to do that and I figured I would spill it all over the place.🤷♂️

I have a 2002 honda Odyssey i never changed my transmission fluid i have 244491 miles on it had the van for 2019 and i wanted to know what level is the fluid supposed to be at and do i need to change it or not and how long do transmission fluids hold in your vehicle on 2002 honda Odyssey
@rutterrealtygc6 ай бұрын
Your vehicle maintenance book will tell you how often you are supposed to change it. I believe it is every 50k miles or so. Do you have your manual?

I have an 2005 with 180000 miles on it and it would be smart to REPLACE THE FILTER too and just the 4 quarts that is in the pan.. Alot of times if you change the whole 8 quarts it could damage the tranny.. Mine came out black as coal but will do it again after 25k. Most of the old time mechanics will tell you what l just told you.. Mine shifts really nice now and the filter fell apart when taken out..

I just did a drain and fill and I put 4 quarts plus a bottle of Seafoam trans tune and Dipstick still doesn't even show a level

You should check the manufactures recommendations for how much fluid you need on a drain and fill. You can also measure the amount of fluid that came out of your car assuming that you could read a level on the stick before you drained it.

Nice I didn’t know and on mine car I put 8 quarters plus the 4 that is already store in the transmission I hope I can save my transmission cuz it was acting weird I didn’t know I only need it to put 3 quarters

Check with your local dealer or part store on your capacity!👍

My 06 Odyssey had 3.3 quarts come out so that is what I put back in each time. My put-oil-in plug is filthy and down in a filthy area that looks impossible to work with. Dollar General ($2) turkey baster makes a great funnel to address the small dipstick hole. Add the new oil slowly.

@rutterrealtygc It does have a filter.It's external cause.I have a 03 Honda Odyssey and the filter is external.It looks like a fuel filter, but it sets in the engine compartment and I know this from other videos

What if I don’t have a Honda dealer near by, can I get the oil from autozone
@rutterrealtygc2 ай бұрын
It is recommended to use genuine Honda transmission fluid. If you don’t have a Honda dealer near you, I believe you should be able to order it online and have it delivered to your door!

This is kinda dumb Because I typed in step by step process and this was the first thing to pop up Don't use the dip stick neck for the filler hole Instead, not even a foot behind the dip stick is the filler bolt hole, on the bolt says in caps (ATF, automatic transmission fluid) And these more than 3 quarts 3.5 Odyssey Automatic 5 speed transmission actually holds 8.3 quarts, there are lines going from the transmission to the radiator, it's how the fluid is cooled. The only thing you got right was the Honda genuine ATF fluid It's videos like this that lead any random john doe to believe that hes a mechanic, This is could be mechanic at best with bad info
@rutterrealtygc2 ай бұрын
This video was for a drain and fill, not a complete transmission flush. Many people state not to change all the fluid at one time because it can affect the clutches ability to grab. Sorry you were disappointed. Sincerely, John Doe Mechanic 😉
