Hey I was wondering what you guys suggest for good resonant heads on the toms I have Remo smooth white emperors on mine now because I had them from being my old batter heads and I couldn’t afford new ones but when I have the extra what do you recommend? Thanks

What's crazy I'd I'm a guitarist violinist and pianist but just bought a drum set for no reason and Sweetwater was extremely helpful with helping me order what I needed and customer service was second to none!!!! Even crazier is I got on KZbin to find out how to install heads and the first video I found was none other that Sweetwater. This company is legiterous!!! I'm definitely making this my top vender

First timer here. I’m a music teacher living in isolation and don’t have my go-to drummer friends around to help. This was so helpful and concise. My students will be so happy to have fresh skins after the long weekend!! Much appreciated from Northern Canada.

It's awesome seeing Casey come this far. I discovered him when I joined our pep band back when I was in college and the majority of my growth as a pep band drummer is because of him.

Thank you so much for the helpful video! I didn't know what a resonant head was called and it was very difficult to find a replacement when you don't know the name.

What no battery operated screwdriver to remove those heads?

Dont want to put too much dampening on your heads and kill the sound. One dot I find to be the best to kill enough of the overtones while still getting the tone of the drum.

Do you have to replace the bottom ones too? I got heads but for the real sound I’m trying to figure out if I should replace the bottom ones with the same ones

Hey, Joeseph. Thanks so much for reaching out. Absolutely. The bottom heads are just as important as the top head. Even though you don’t hit them, they do wear out. The good thing is that they don’t wear nearly as quickly as batter heads. My rule of thumb is for every 4th time I change the batter heads, that's when I change the bottom heads. You’d want the the bottom heads to be a single ply head. That will give you the best tone and resonance. I hope this helps.
