On my model you push in on the handle to the left. (In my case its dark gray.) Tip: My filter was still stuck.. So, open both fridge doors and while pushing in in on the knob use a long slender screwdriver and place it behind the small front lip of the stuck filter and pry it forward. lt should then pop out.

Great video. That is what I need to do. But it is hard to take out the cover at the bottom , I don’t want to break the plastic cover( grey color piece) . Can you give more instructions how to get the big grey color plastic cover off t? Thanks

you can try using a butter knife or flat-head screw driver to carefully pry it off. start at one end, then work you way across. it should pop off without breaking it.

For me I had to push the button in then used my fingers to pull out the filter since the button is not latching to the filter

you can shut it off if you feel more comfortable but not necessary. when you remove the filter, the water valve automatically shuts off.

Hopefully you have the old filter still. Check and compare the ends of both...see if everything is exactly the same. Also compare the thread of both and make sure the starting tip of the thread is exactly the same size.

you might have the wrong filter. check and compare to the old one and make sure it’s exactly the same.

I was actually trying to put the same (old) filter back in. I pulled it out to see the model number to order a new filter, so after I did that I tried to put it back in and it goes almost all the way in but doesn’t complete go back into place, the knob does not click back in. It just pushes back out when I try to push it in. Thank you for your quick reply

did you try pushing the knob and the filter back in simultaneously? it should lock in. make sure you have the filter lined up correctly as well. try rotating it a bit to get it lined up with the filter inlet holes.

@iluvegg295 depending on you model, there is usually a filter light that turns on to alert you that it is time to change it. Usually, you have to hold a button near it for 3 seconds to reset the alert. Another reason is that the filter is not put in properly or fully. Check if the water is dispensing properly, if it is, then do the reset like I suggested. If the water is not dispensing, then the filter is not put in properly. Take it out and try putting it in again.
