Thanks for the video. I didn't know about the reset step, so I kept getting the "Replace Filter" light even after changing the filter. One important step before trying the removal handle. Turn the water supply off and relieve the pressure from the water line by using the water dispenser. Otherwise the filter may not come out, and you can damage the filter removal handle. That happened to me, and I ended up having to pull the filter out with large channel lock pliers - and that only worked after I relieved the pressure. The filter wouldn't budge otherwise. My removal won't engage with the new filter though, so I may have damaged the handle by not relieving the pressure first

I would try wiggling it back and forth a bit carefully as you pull back.

I found this advice online: Open up the door for the water filter compartment. The door should open in an upward direction and when it is open, the filter should be easy to pull out completely. If this is not the case, try to close and re-open the water filter compartment door. Make sure that the door is entirely open. If this does not work, turn off the water source to the refrigerator and purge the water from the water line via the water dispenser. Do this to get rid of several cups of water, then release water pressure from the water line. Try again to remove the water filter.

I found that I had to turn off the water supply and bleed off all the pressure from the water line by pressing the water dispenser button. Even then, I had to use large channel lock pliers to pull the filter out. And I seem to have damaged my handle in the process, to the point where the new filter doesn't engage with the removal handle when I insert it.

The filter says to run 4 gallons of water through it before using. A large bucket helps
