First time watching your channel. You earned yourself a subscriber. Not being a lorry driver, I found this video very interesting as it is something that we normally don't get to see. Although originally from Wales, I live in Japan. In 2011 on a trip to Europe, the only flight we could get into Europe was Munich. We rented a car and drove around Europe and had pre-booked our journey on the Chunnel from Japan. I was seriously impressed by the way it operated. It was really very easy and I found it to be a much better system than ferries. They did a good job in setting up the system and although I'm sure that regular users can see room for improvement, the basis of the system was really impressive.

Last time I did that, it took a lot less time (unless you got pulled through the customs lanes in Calais) There was one booth as you got past the lorry park in France, where you got your meal voucher and told what lane to go to, after that, it was straight to the lanes where you parked waiting for the train. We used to get points back then, and rewards for using the shuttle. I still have the "bomber jacket" and a few other bits and pieces. It is nice to see how things have changed.

Cheers mate! That was fascinating. Living in Lyminge I often see you guys having to queue over the M20 and only ever having driven the ferries back when sanity reigned it was always a puzzle at what goes on nowadays. The view of Folkestone's familiar strangely shaped hills & low channel cloud didn't half look like Blighty as you came up the ramp off the train though! Oh! Could you ask the Folkestone side to turn their bloody lights off at night! They ruin my stargazing! 🌌 🔭

I used to use the tunnel all the time taking trailers of car parts between Liverpool, Germany, and Spain for a company called Ewals Cargo Care. Started shortly after it opened. The train broke down one day and everyone had to get out into the central emergency tunnel to wait.
