How to Chant Mantras

In my experience, hardcore Sanskritists often have the remarkable ability to be both incredibly elegant linguists and philosophers while almost simultaneously being incredibly immature snobs. Some mantras are well-suited for mystical reunification with Reality and tend to be very sattvic, and some are better suited for practical shamanic purposes like helping a tribe to maintain balanced and sustainable relationships with the living beings in their environments.

I enjoy Dr Svoboda's 5 minutes lessons! It is amazing how a non-Hindu knows Hinduism and Sanskrit at such level of detail! I have been Chanting 1) Om Namaha Shivaya 2) Oh Gum Ganapataye Namah as well as 3) Om Hum Hunmataye Namah. The second and third I believe are Beja Mantras. Thank you Dr. Svoboda for keeping your lessons in the 5 minute range...because you make them quick and easy to follow. I have been following you for at least 7 to 8 years now!! Thank you. He's not a non Hindu. Secondly , it doesn't matter where you come from. If an Indian can learn western science , mathematics, medicine and programming then a westerner can also learn yoga mantras and shastras

Usually bïja mantras are a part of tantrik tradition which requires guru initiation. I hope it is helpful.

Ive read a lot of mixed things about mantras and initiation. still, i dont want to be disrespectful..Ive been chanting Om Gam Ganapataye Namah..as i thought this was the safest for beginner's..ive been doing it a while though. Maybe this is Ganeshs way of telling me to do something different. Seriously though, should i not be chanting that?

Ganapathaye Namah can be chanted by the uninitiated and is effective. The mantra form you chant is used by many as well and is suited for mental repetition

It's for everyone. But maybe your pronunciation is a bit off. As the sound is not an English " n" but something else and I know it's not easy for westerners. My gf struggles with those sounds as well.
