i always hated 8 volt batteries in golf carts ........when they die during the winter it is the same thing over and over. a couple of years ago i bought a charger that goes up to 72 volts....turn it to 48 and it does the job perfectly.....

After watching 20 videos, reading the manual guide and calling the dealership for them to say it’ll cost me 400.00 😠 …. This video is hands down the best educated way to learn about golf cart batteries. Thank you brother!!!

Thank goodness for a common sense Texan w a logical, simple answer to an "automatic charger" that isn't!!!

Youare absolutely right. Been thru this a few times myself but never on golf carts.

just stumbled my way through this exact scenario, with a 48v EZ-GO and only a 12v charger on hand. this video is comprehensive of my experience and everything i did to get the cart going, even down to the fault codes and getting through them; wish i would have found it sooner, haha. great info.

I had this problem with my wife's golf cart. It had a backup camera on it. Didn't realize it stayed on return the golf cart off. Didn't really know what to do because I'm not a golf cart guy I really care not to have one. But I disconnected all the batteries and charge them one by one. Eventually got it up to where the golf cart charger would kick in and do his job. I'm figuring out this is really more work than I care to do. I want to convince my wife to sell the thing. Or rent it out make some money of it. If she would do that I would dig deep into it and figure out all I need to know. But to me it's just like the pool she had to have back in the day. Just some other b******* I have to work on that I care not to deal with. But I do appreciate your video. Thank you have a nice day

I just used 2 12v deep cells series to wake up a 3-8v bank. Using a sportsman 2 bank 10amp charger to keep the 12v batteries going.

Any experience with using a 12 volt battery charger on the 12 volt scale at 2 amps? I think it should work, although the charge voltage is usually around 13 to 14 volts, I do believe.

It will Work

Also, a discharged battery can freeze and crack in cold weather! If you're not using the cart, plug it in!!!

So how is it done with 48 volt and 4 batteries. I have a rxv with only 4 batteries
@3vmarc11 ай бұрын
Then you would charge one battery at a time with a 12v charger, or two at a time with a 24v charger.

You didn't touch on exactly why it is that a battery charger won't charge a completely dead battery? It has to sense power there first or it won't do it why is that?
@pedraw2 жыл бұрын
Sounds ridiculous doesn't it? You need to use a battery charger to charge the batteries so the battery charger will work.
@jimbrewer28932 жыл бұрын
on board smart chargers, used in most newer battery powered carts are programmed through a microprocessor to control the 3 stages of charging. If it doesn't detect the minimum programmed voltage it won't begin the charge process. So you have to "trick" the charger to get it to work. Just as Jeremy did. Keep in mind, the minimum voltage depends on the total battery voltage. Hope this answers your question.

@@jimbrewer2893 ya done that before, jump start the mower with Isuzu rodeo and then let it run for a few minutes. Chatted back down check the fluids and then the charger should work 👍

Thanks I just ordered a 24 v battery charger.

I charged each 8v battery for 20 minutes each then wired them back and the cart charger recognized the system and started charging.

what voltage did you use to charge them with

Charge two at a time with a 12V charger.

Two at time at 12v, or four at 24v.👍

You need to add more step by step instruction to this video. It was too generalized and needs to be more specific
