Just curious, when you did this set, was heat previously applied to your hair for the stretching process; as you mentioned in 0:23? You said you were testing the method using heat. Do you think you would have gotten similar results if "NO HEAT" was applied? (even though heat was not applied in the setting of the style, heat was previously applied). HAVE I confused you more? LOL!.
@Naptural8510 жыл бұрын
DiscoveringNatural Lol, no I know what you're saying. I don't think it would have been exactly the same, since heat has a way of really stretching those curls and kinks, but it would be extremely similar. If you take a look at my "How to cheat a perm rod video" you'll be able to compare the texture and see how it would look using absolutely no heat from start to finish. The results are still very shiny and smooth using the "No Heat Blowout Technique" Xo!

Wow. This is amazing! You really helped me. I was on the bench about these. Because I REALLY don’t know what to do with my hair between braiding. And I’m not good at casual braiding at all. I’ve been trying to rock my natural curls but they frizz up WAY to fast. So I’ll give this a try. Thanks

I never use flexi rods anymore. They always pull too tightly on my scalp. I always use the old 80's style, pink sponge rollers :3 It costs like $1.50 for a 10-pack at my favorite beauty store & all its items for sale are 98% hair items. But I LOVE the finished results on your hair; just...beautiful!
@zoe.x.connordino58719 жыл бұрын
You could put your hair into high pigtails then do flexi rods easier to sleep and doesn't pull on scalp .
@lampdee55759 жыл бұрын
Britney Tran Yes, but then the curls do not go all the way to the scalp. :)
@Cindy997658 жыл бұрын
+Kristina Ravenell if your twa is at least 3-4 inches, its possible. don't do it on shorter hair - its possible, but you will have to pull really tight at the root go get the short hair around the curler.
@lizzynunya62547 жыл бұрын
I'd be very careful using sponge rollers. Although I have straight, thick Asian hair, when I used sponge rollers as a teen, I noticed how much hair would break off and stick to the spongey surface. Then a good friend of mine (who was an African American hair stylist) told me that they were particularly damaging to her hair. She told me that the coarser your hair texture the more likely the hair 'grabs' the sponge's surface, resulting in breakage. So she showed me how to tear an old sheet into strips and roll my hair with these to get beautiful spiral curls. :-)

I promise if I am able to achieve this on my hair, I would do it every day lol. I chopped off 85% of my relaxed hair around 7 months ago, and after having 85% natural hair, I damaged it with heat! When it's not one thing is the other..sigh. I finally left the creamy crack but then I caught myself addicted to the heat -.- . So, now I am trying to find possible ways to get NICE looking curls with no heat,anything but heat to make this natural yet heat damaged hair. And this looks beautifuul! Thanks for sharing, hope it works out for me lol

If your hair is shoulder length you finished result would be a short curly style. The size of the curls is dependent on the size of the rods you use. But you'll clearly have less volume and it will be more of a short Lil Orphan Annie do which is nice. Be happy with your hair. It's what you will always have.

There are plenty of black women with long natural hair. Many of us from the Caribbean and South America.

Black people have that sultry look. Yeah, I feel coarse hair like this pretty lady, you can do alot with it. My hair is too fine and thin.

That is so cool. Couldn't you perm your hair like that? I love that you parted your hair on the side, I hate seeing nice hair like this parted in the middle.

The best results that I've had with either a Bantu knot or flexi rod set is to stay away from gel or "wet" products when my hair is dry. I always got an Afro too lol.
