If the pros use a greens elevation map then why can't you use the same info from a watch

I bought the Garmin S62 based on your review about a year ago. Super helpful. love having range to hazards, course layouts, and the range to front, middle, back of green. I also wear it pretty much every day as I workout a lot and use the various fitness settings and metrics. Great watch, it's a digital watch for us "mechanical" watch nerds. Actually...that title might go to the TAG...but it's way overpriced.

I bought a Cobra Speedzone from 2019, I get the club and find out the Arcoss sensors where never turned in, So I now have Arcoss for all my clubs and it only costs me the subscription. Love the program. I also have the Range Finder I won from your channel last spring (hard to use, my hand shakes due to Carpal Tunnel) But when i do get a bead it is great. Other then that that is it. Have a great day Gabe.

I've been using the SingU app on my phone and the Precision Pro range finder. SwingU does much of what the Arccos and other systems do but with slightly inconvenient manual club entry, rather than buttons, for each shot to build the database for club recommendations and tracking rounds. Lots of tech to help us around a course. I enjoy your content.

How accurate do you find the distances?

I use swing U also. Premier package. It is exceptionally accurate and after a few rounds gets to know club length and will recommend the club. Mapping is great, keep scores, tracks handicap, free lessons and much more.

Man, I'm here for anything that helps me with this frustrating game even if it's barely legal! I love the weather data option on that rangefinder. We get 4 seasons in one day here in the UK, and often times I can hit anything between a 6 and a 9 iron to the first par 3 at my course. That info would give me an edge!

I dont consider any one of those illegal tourney play or not. Its only the pretentious PGA that says they are illegal, yet they require caddies that, if good, offer more info than any one of those devices. None of us are pros, use whatever can help.

There is an argument that all tech is cheating. Would Bobby Jones use tech if he was alive today, or would his integrity prevent him. Part of the sport is making judgements based on experience. Do I use tech? Yes but not on the course - toptracer at the range and the R10 at home.

Weren’t caddies the human equivalent? A lot of course and golf knowledge in those guys still today. Perhaps more entertaining then a watch on one’s wrist though😆

@@restey5979 I’ll give you that but not many club golfers get a caddy, which adds to your argument. But eye balling and knowing your game is a huge part of club golf. Where is the challenge in knowing which distance and which club?
@restey59792 жыл бұрын
@@andrewgudgeonobe2721 As I learn to play this game at one course I'm getting familiar with what distance what club on this one course. If I understand you correctly you're suggesting that the skill/ability to estimate distances, wind, slope etc on a strange course is an important part of the game and the offloading that knowledge onto a machine of some kind is "cheating". I "agree" only in that these are wonderful skills to have and develop. The practicalities however are against it. Like practice rounds are "cheating" if one player has a number of them and another has never played the course. That's an advantage that the technology levels out some. I've also noticed that the tech speeds play when used well and that seems to be, for better or worse, a desirable goal. The more rounds I accumulate the less I'm relying on the tech .. so I guess that's a good thing. In the absence of knowledgeable playing partners and caddies the tech has helped me learn my way around. Now tournament play is another story ..... how much help is too much? Watching a documentary on "Loopers" it was clear that having a good or especially great caddie .. one who may have special knowledge .. was a distinct advantage over the years. Was that cheating? Don't know.
@andrewgudgeonobe27212 жыл бұрын
@@restey5979 you make some good points. But I grew up in a world without tech and my golf mates and I will not play with gadgets on the course, for us it is about best player winning nor the one with the most tech.
