I do two things. 1. Wear glasses and get my desk lamp to shine in my face so the glare covers my eyes from the webcam. 2. Put my tablet where my keyboard is with all my notes typed out and scroll without moving my arms when I need an answer. Never been detected and got an A the last two classes. I don't trust using programs. Respondus will detect it and report you. It's not worth getting expelled. Just use the tablet or a piece of paper. Once you span the area you have five seconds to begin the test and that's when you put your cheat sheet or tablet in place. Good luck. I don't feel guilty because it's ridiculous that they expect you to remember hundreds of definitions.

So for anyone wondering. Respondus will not let you Alt+Tab. They lock key functions such as that and other key functions. They will also detect any screen sharing, external screens, and split screens will not work. Eye tracking will on track if your not looking that the screen/webcam. So the best options are to aim the camera high up so it can only see your face and not arms. They put you cellphone notes etc… In arms length. Then if you don’t know the answer to a question. Put your cellphone or notes on your computer screen. Then find the answer and put the cheating material in arms length again. Just remember that respondus does use your webcam for monitoring sound in the room. So if you can use headphones that have a mute option. That way respondus can’t hear anything going on in the room.

There are many ways around lockdown even with the camera recording. The simplest one is to simply tape notes around the screen if you're using a laptop or around the keyboard of the laptop. The webcam cannot see the screen and it usually isn't pointed toward the keyboard. Whilst it detects eye movement its quite normal to look at the keyboard whilst typing. Lockdown is a scare tactic and its one of the easiest tools to circumvent. Hell after you have recorded the short video of your surroundings just pick up the notes or your phone and place it as respondus is no longer recording during the set up phase until you actually start the quiz. Often times you will be allowed a scrap piece of paper for rough work or working out - so at some point you will be looking at this piece of paper anyway

Aim your laptop screen angled upwards, gives you more room to keep your phone and tablet on your keyboard. Gives you extra wiggle room. Also sit close with your face to the webcam, takes up a lot of real estate. and they can’t tell What’s going on with your arms. It’s not cheating, it’s evening the playing field.

I usually use my phone during my exams, I just turn off the wifi since the respondus lockdown browser detects Wi-Fi instead of service because the service is something you paid for. Also I of course turn off the sound and vibration and keep a cheat sheet on the side.

if anyone is seriously thinking about cheating, the safest method is still using your phone and putting it in a blindspot. Some things to note, that might be beneficial to you: 1. Before any checks, do not ever reveal the phone. Place it some where hidden. (hint: taped below your table works best so far) 2. If you must reveal your phone, then consider buying a 2nd phone and hide that one. 3. Do a trial run. Use the webcam and record yourself attempting whatever methods, then watch the recorded video and see if you can spot yourself making any suspicious movements. 3. Water trick to buy you some time. Most test/quiz, that are monitored, will usually permit students to have a bottle of water. They will most likely demand that you show it so they can examine it. The focus here is not to use the water bottle as a source of hidden notes. Rather, it is to provide you a few seconds of free movement. While you are claiming that you are drinking water you should have a few seconds of free-movement window. Use this window however you wish, adjust your seating position, hand placement. Obviously, dont forget to drink some water.

1. Cut a piece of a clear ziplock bag and put it over the camera. To the teacher, it will just look like you have a bad camera/ is blurry. You will still be visible so that respondus detects your face but it won't detect your eye movement.

Just gonna do the mouse adapter and strap my phone to my monitor LMFAO Update (same day): I was too scared to to glance down at my phone even though it was sitting up against my laptop screen. But with the amount of time I spent making the gat damn cheat sheet, I retained enough of the information to still make an 82 on my midterm with no prior studying. Mind you it took me 4 hours to make the 120+ question cheat sheet that I didn't even end up using, so I guess that equates to 4 hours of studying ironically lol.

The simple act of creating the cheat sheet _is_ studying. Just do that. Leave the sheet in your bag. Do the test without cheating -- way less risky and way less stress. What people forget to realize is that the teachers want you to succeed. If you are struggling, ask for help. Way better than getting caught cheating -- that will stay with you.

So some things I noticed about using the Alt-Tab method: 1. Alt tab only works before starting your exam. Once you start up your exam, you can no longer alt tab. it just prevents you from doing it anymore. 2. If you're on a multi monitor setup and you close out the purple tabs before starting an exam, lockdown can detect if you click outside of your screen or try to move one tab to the other monitor. - You can still scroll up and down on a webpage, you just can't click anywhere on it because it'll notify the instructor

I don't know how much trouble I'm about to get myself into. But I'll give you a tip. Long press the shut down button for 13 seconds after reading the question. Then turn on your computer after finding your answers. This way, the respondous does not notify your professor. Warning: DONT press the shut down once, long press it and literally count 13 seconds without a break

I made my little brother sit under the desk then I scanned the whole room. Then I touched his feet meaning he can crawl out and sit in the corner. he couldn’t be seen by the webcam because he was at the corner. Then he would take pictures and send them to my friend and after he answers my little brother slides the phone right next to my papers. Then I act like I’m solving the problem and see the answers on my phone. When I’m done my lil bro takes the phone slowly and do it again. But for questions with sentences or anything related to writing I would just copy and he would paste it from his phone easily because the laptop is connected to the phone through iCloud.

I placed my phone on my keyboard during environment check, then I moved it on my papers which were not seen by the camera. I also took a photo of the screen with my phone, I knew my smartphone couldnt be seen if i took a photo from a blind spot (such as keeping my phone over my keyboard and using macro camera mode). Hope it worked.

Schools were designed to keep you working be a good employer and be a puss to your bosses. The book Rich Dad Poor Dad mentions this several times. In any religion, cheating is not allowed. But institutions are no religion and neither do they guarantee any job after you graduate. Education has nothing to do with religion, so if you cheat once in a while in exams you are doing nothing wrong. Truth is Life is not Fair. And if one wants to live life to the fullest than one has to take this fact into consideration. I ma not saying cheating in exams is good. It is definitely wrong. But not as sinful as some of you see it to be.

@@liezlejoykimayong1917 so what I did was, put petroleum jelly on ur camera but don’t put too much. Talk while ur taking the test. Repeat the questions. Put ur phone close to the question so it makes it look like ur not looking away from the question. Make normal movements with ur arms such as drinking water, putting ur hands on ur face, put ur hand under your chin. Hope that helps!

What I did was have my pencil in my hand while I typed on my phone. Bc the camera would see my pencil moving and it just looked like I was writing. Hope this helps!

@@Toronto6 hey! So anatomy 1 my professor didn’t do lockdown browser so I managed to cheat just fine. But with anatomy 2 I’m on lockdown browser. What I did was, I put Vaseline on my camera. Not too much just to still be able to see me. I’d angle my laptop to where my face only is showing. Put your phone as close to the questions as possible so it makes it seem like you’re focusing on the question. Do some regular movements with ur hands like touching your face cough whatever. And read your question out loud several times as you’re typing the question so it makes it seem like you’re trying to comprehend a question. Hope this helps!! Edit: anatomy 1 was easy. Just learning your muscles and vocab. It’s hard material but I actually learned by cheating I have no idea why 😂

I have some ideas.. So first you can put a litle paper in on the bottom of your screen with litte words. You can put an wireless earphone in and read the question oud laud but like you talk to yourself. Than someone can tell u the answers trough the earphone. Also put on a hoodie and put on your cap so they dont see it. I have some exams where i can use my calculator so i can put my answers in my calculator that can maybe help?

Last semester i used my phone and just had it in my cameras blind spot and it works though I have a test tomorrow using respondus lockdown(without the camera I believe) I’m going to do the multiple desktop method version on my chrome book (chromebook has a button that doesn’t require you to press alt/tab just a single button) and see if that works and let y’all know

Cant you connect your screen to an hdmi in another room. say like a tv. And your screen will play on the tv in another room. Then you can have a friend on a laptop in the other room googling the answers and somehow communicating them to you.
