That reservoir on the top of your engine is for the intercooler. The one on the fender is for your engine cooling system.

I checked both of mine & they both looked full as well & still can’t get the darn “check coolant level: see owners manual” message that LITERALLY pops up on the dash as does the “check oil levels @ next fill up” every 1-3 mins for the entire time I’m driving & can’t figure out HOW TO GET THE MESSAGES TO GO AWAY!.. please help!

Jose my s63 is low coolant on the main engine. Just filled it up last year . Think there is a leak? Barely put miles on it and no puddles under the car. Thanks you the man!

Thank you so much. Sometimes leaks are very difficult to find. You really have to look into it even around the reservoir. Hopefully is noticeably, it could be leaking into the oil side of the engine.

Thank you so much for your comment. If you have a 7speed transmission you should have a service tube that you can use to add oil if needed. If you have a 9speed there is no service or dipstick. You definitely need to change your transmission fluid. You have to change the bottom tray. Check out my transmission service video.

Very good content as always and well done. I am glad that mine is E550 and only has one coolant reservoir to deal with :) By the way, take it easy with your wrist. If it is Carpal tunnel syndrome It takes time to heal. You shouldn't use that hand much.

Thank you for this video. I have the same car, tried to use the auxiliary heater a couple times and it didn't start. Now it says I need to add coolant. Never had this before.. I'm guessing the auxiliary heater is leaking somewhere since it circulates the coolant to heat it up. Although I heard you say "it's normal for the engine to burn some coolant". I thought this was a closed system and "burning" coolant could only result from a leak somewhere? I have a 2013 and never had to add coolant.

Thank you so much for your comment. Which reservoir are you having to refill? Have you checked the reservoirs them selves? If you can’t find anything from the top, you have to take the covers off the bottom and look around. Maybe the turbo lines have leak

@@josecitomarin it’s the reservoir to the left of the engine but sometimes having to refill the middle one once in awhile, not sure if that’s normal but as of late the bigger one I’m having to refill after each drive now, can’t seem to find any leaks at the moment, it could be drying up fast

@@juniordace1347 you definitely have a leak in the high temperature system. You have to look under the car. It’s probably leaking in the covers that is why you don’t see it.

By chance does the coolant sometimes get into the washer fluid reservoir? I see some seepage coming from that as well

Thank you so much for your comment. You only have 1 reservoir I believe. But procedures are about the same if you had to replace the coolant. Bleed the lines and vacuum fill

Hello. How to remove the throttle

Hi. Thank you so much for your comment. If you want to remove the throttle valve you have to remove charge air cooler with the valve then separate them once they are out. Not that easy or quick, but definitely doable. Before you do that, there are some coolant and vacuum lines involved, at least 8 of them. You also have to remove the low temperature coolant reservoir.

Thank you so much for your comment. Make sure you don’t mix coolants. You should be able to use one at Autozone if you flush the entire system. Use the one for European cars of course. I would still use Mercedes coolant though.

Those are separate systems. The larger tank on the side of the engine bay is for the cooling system the one in the middle is for the intercooler.
