Yes, High pressure. There must be at least 10 BAR of pressure. And If NOT, then there is no engine start.

If you have stuck rings you could try some high milage synthetic oils and synthetic oil stabilizer by Lucas. Also try Seafoaming the engine.

Warm your car up to operating temp, go for a highway ride, push it regularly up to the redline and when decelerating, keep it in gear, you will be engine braking and generating loads of vacuum from 6000 - 7000rpm, then repeat. Keep doing this for up to an hour and it MAY reseat your piston rings. This is an old-school method, but it definitely works - I had no huge problems, but now my engine eats way less oil between changes.

I replaced the oil,plugs,belts and suspension. I also replaced the timing belt, water pump and seals. however ; if I remove the oil cap, it spits out oil. it also spits oil out of the dipstick tube. Hi, you have issue in your car engine's cylinder head pressure valve, it is stuck. This air valve repair costs about 100 US$. Please visit the nearest Toyota dealership center and explain the issue. And say that oil pressure air valve to intake manidold in cylinder head is stuck. This should help you.

ralph castillo - Make sure the engine breathing system is clean. For a car that seated that long I could swear the PCV valve, hoses, etc. are stuck with gunk. Although you didn't mention why the car was stopped in the first place... A compression, vacuum and leakage test will tell you what is really needed. ;-) 3 tools that should ALWAYS be around, compression gauge, vacuum gauge and ideally an adapter for compressed air (leak test). My $10 tools bought more than 20 years ago still serve well. :-)

Pressure in valve cover doesn’t mean bad piston rings. Could be bad valve seals or bad valves or valve timing. Crank case relief valve will relief excess pressure if there is blow by

Hello Peter, at first thank you for the video. So I been getting P0421 code after I ran amsoil power foam though my throttle body. And the code not going away (keep coming back). My obd scanner showing my B1S2 oxygen sensor running Rich (.8-.9V but no codes for running Rich)while driving but when idle it's not looking Rich and B1S2 stay around .1 V. Today I opened up my pcv valve and it was full with oil and valve is bad. I'm going to change it as soon I received my parts. Before I opened up PCV valve this morning I opened my oil filler cap when my vehicle was idle and I saw decent amount air pushing out from oil cap hole (blow by??). Car running just fine I didn't noticed rough idling or lack of power. And my obd scanner showing me my EVAP system pressure higher than normal (almost x2-x3 times higher). Do you think I ruined my vehicle by running Amsoil power foam though throttle body? I had no P0421 codes before that. And the PCV valve and blow by from oil filler cap hole i noticed because I was digging out the problem. P0421 and my oxygen sensor not ready no matter what, I already drove 400 miles. My 2016 Mazda CX-5 2.5L AWD got only 39000 miles. It's too early for a bad catalytic converter or worn out piston rings. I'm hoping PCV valve is the problem for all. What do you think Peter ? Any suggestions? By the way I change my own oil every 5-6 months and I use Synthetic right viscosity oil. Thank you in advance 😌

The breather check and water combustion blow by products in the oil can all be a good indicator of wear. However, sorry my friend, but as much as the piston rings do wear, the piston ring land (the top ring that takes most of the combustion stresses) wears much faster than the hard steel rings, because the piston is made of softer aluminium material. The best thing to do for worn PISTONS is to buy a thicker top ring set, then remachine the pistons top ring land bottom for the thicker top ring to suit. If you attempted this precision close tolerance lathe job, then you would understand the internal combustion engine a little better.

Run engine and measure crankcase pressure via the PCV. There should be a standard measure from the factory service manual. If out of spec, jump to compression testing each cylinder to isolate the problem(s). Doesn't get any quicker.

Your car burns a lot of oil. You take a compression test and it is ok, so then the piston rings are fine, so then there must be something else that is wrong. What about oil rings? They may well be worn/damaged even if the compression is ok.

hello, i have some questions. so i open the oil cap and start the engine, and if i hear/feel air coming out the oil cap, does that mean its bad piston rings? i did my compression test and it was 185 all four on my honda s2000. then i done a wet test which i put oil in the cylinder and the compression went up. 1 - 220, 2- 215, 3 - 220, and 4 - 210. does that mean i have a bad piston rings on all four? pleaseee let me know. thanks

Manuel N Carmen Cedillo - For God sake request a test. Compression test in this engine is quite easy/cheap. Leakage test same, same... FIY Oil burning engine blow mostly blueish smoke. White is water vapor, short distance driving, head gasket... Grey/black mixture (ignition, injection, air/fuel filter, etc.) If on start up, probably valve stem seals are the first and major suspect. Torn down an engine blindly doesn't make any sense at all, specially in a "stealership".

Video is painful to watch, have machine shop mic block bore, pistons, and crank and remove all doubt if you need to bore the block and install new pistons or if you just need to hone the cylinders and then if you need to turn crank or get a new crankshaft and stop listing to people who don't have a clue what they are talking about.

ammmm; don't know how to handle a micrometer?; and... you can't use it like that ,to measure a curved piston ring,you'd need a ball mike.
