If that part on your car is not spinning when u turn on ur ac it means your ac compressor clutch is bad and u should replace it to get cold air

That is most likely normal and probably tor temperature regulation (so it doesn’t get colder than it needs to) but if you notice poor ac performance you could get it checked out.

⁠​⁠@@Ruben163074I saw someone in another thread under this video state that it could be due to low gas pressure. Not sure exactly how it correlates to the ac issue but perhaps fixing the evap leak issue will also take care of the ac problem as well

I have a 2012 Hyundai Accent. The compressor turns on and the air conditioning cools, however, the compressor demands too much energy from the engine and the interior lights dim with the AC on (idle RPM fluctuates up and down between 1,000 and 500). I recently noticed that white smoke with a burnt rubber smell sometimes comes out of the area where the compressor belt and clutch are located. Any ideas what I can check or do to identify the problem and fix it? ¿Can it be the clutch or something else?

A/C compressor is seizing up and is probably seized completely by now. The smoke is the rubber of the belt burning and it will eventually snap.

Check all the pulleys and tensioner / bearing around that same belt. Maybe they are worn out . If not, yah must be the ac clutch

Hi. My ac fuse keeps blowing, so I changed the relay and the new fuse also blew. When I removed the relay, there seems to be a burnt area at the location where the relay goes. Do you know what could be the reason? Thanks in advance.

Naw what this video failed to mention is your compressors clutch can be spinning and still be a bad compressor, I've changed a few compressors that was the problem even tho the clutch was spinning.

It could be spinning, but not pumping either due to defective compressor or control valve. You could also have a blend door issue in dash not allowing air to blow across evaporator

Mine recently went out. Apparently inside the compressor something broke and sounded horrible so I changed it out. Now when I turn on the AC I get a squeal. It’s not continuous. Just does it like every 3 seconds. Took in to a mechanic and he said he was because the AC belt was to big. Needs to be a little smaller. I don’t understand that because before it wasn’t squealing. Just wonder if anybody had these kind of headaches before.

Did you properly recharge the system? Is the high pressure switch okay?is there power getting directly to the ac compressor ? Check all those

Nvm. I figured it out a few mins ago. I ended up changing the relay from the radiator to the ac.. and pulled another relay from my sister old Honda and put it in for the radiator and it worked. Bad relay is what it was. Probably didn’t need a new A/C compressor.

I think it’s worth to replace just the clutch or bearing only. Depends how bad it is, sometimes it will fix it

Sometimes the clutch and hub is within a few dollars of whole compressor. But labor is more to replace compressor.

@@TruthToldTV it's what I always recommend. If the hub has 100K miles on it, then the compressor does too. Some people just don't want to fool with the sealed system.

I have a question... I tried looking in the comments but was not successful in finding it. My ac clutch spins & blows cold air, but after a while, my lower pressure line freezes & the ac stops blowing. I noticed that the ac clutch doesn't stop when ac is in off position. Any ideas?

Basically, if it only spins when you turn on the A/C than you'd better hope you have $1000 laying around.

It’s all depends, there’s plenty of factors that makes it work properly. Relay, fuse , pressure sensor , pressure in the system or lack of Freon. You need a proper diagnose before jumping into conclusion it needs an aC compressor replacement

@Auto Purlieu true, but the majority of mechanics aren't as honest as you and will just want to bill you for a replacement.

@@johnnyzen4282 unfortunately, that’s how it works. They rather replace the entire system and get it done. These kind of diagnostics takes try and error but with experience , it eliminates the Europe’s part lesser. I had 1 customer that the Honda dealer charging him $2k to replace the ac compressor on 2015 Honda accord. They said there’s a leak . But you won’t know if there’s a leak until you put something inside the system. I don’t think they even tested it . I just evacuate the system and refill a pressure and Freon. It works properly until now
