Water temp/action correlation? Size? Color?

I use either green pumpkin or a bluegill type color 99% of the time. As far as size, I like to use the standard sizes, around the 3.5" or 4". When the water warms up I also like to use trailers that have a little more action to them when the water is warmer and more subtle when the water is cooler.

I have a black and blue 1/2 ounce flipping jig any reccomendation?

My favorite for that setup would either be a black/blue twin tail grub or a craw like a Rage Craw. Usually the black blue is used in water with some color to it, so I would probably use the craw first. It works great flipping and pitching, but is also a great trailer for swimming the jig as well.
