What Motor set up would you pick? Why? We’d love to hear 😎
@nicholasgianoplus39046 жыл бұрын
I think you glossed over one important thing... dual motor vs single motor braking. Dual motor is going to bring you to a stop quicker which if you are going faster than 20mph is vital imo. It also provides a failsafe if one belt snaps under hard acceleration/braking. I still have my hub motors from my meepo board but I am looking at a direct drive system in the far future. They are new and expensive so I'm not surprised you didn't include them in this video. Plus you don't sell them 😜 I already knew all this information but wanted to see how you explained it plus your videos are relaxing. Great job!
@MBoardsco6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment! You are absolutely right, definitely should have mentioned the failsafe of having a 2nd belt just in case. Also should have mentioned the faster stopping power of a 2nd motor. Didn’t mention direct drive because they honestly deserve their own video all together. Just too few options out there along with the higher price point. Thanks for watching!

Will a single 270kv motor go up a decent hill?
@ratheonhudson33115 жыл бұрын
You also need to consider contact patch. If you use a single powerful motor and you're slipping backwards you should back off the accelerator. 270kv is good for hil climbs and it's strong enough to work alone. I hill climb a lot and I use Large-Hub direct drive motors for torque and range.

@ratheonhudson33115 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the showcase in motors. I'm curious if you have thought of the magnet length inside the motors? There are long motors which aren't intended for skateboard use but people shoehorn them in for powerful braking and regen. ie. Instead of 6355 its 63 and the length is 80 really weird but it works with wide trucks

Currently belt driven but planning to put on the Boardnamics M1-AT Gear Drive. When you say 2 types of motors; Belt and hub motors. The belt motors include the gear drives and not only the belt drives, yes? Any idea which motors would be equivalent to my currents as far as speed, torque, range, price, sound? And which would you recommend if I wanted to go to the next step up motor? I'm currently looking at the Flipsky 6384 190kv motors. Thank you!

Very helpful video thanks for the info. I appreciate the replaceable wheel skin, for a downhill or freeride skater the wheel can be much smaller after a day of skating. If a race on a motorized skateboard is anything like downhill you could have some sick burnout drift races. Also some induro aspects to long distance races. Regenerative braking for charging the battery? Very interesting prospects.

However I am not that great at eletrical stuff and I would like to know how to get the appropriate battery (and which type) for the motor we have chosen. I know there's big differences between lithium ion, lipo batteries but considering i want range and speed as well how do I chose what kind of battery and how many of them (lithium ion) would I need to be able to get enough power out of them to get to specific speeds. I knew my question is weird I just hope you understand it. Great video btw from a scientific point of view it helps a lot when you want to get a lot more technical.

What about two single motors . You said the model plane motor is to weak with torque . The low end on the back and then the high end on the front . People put the weight on the back and after they hit a high speed people start to lean forward putting their weight on the front trucks . I have a old board that i decided to keep and not give to a needy child . The deck is a vans limited edition death box . The trucks are the widest that i could get . Indy's . German speed bearings . I had awesome bearings but it was stolen . Quarter inch risers . The wheels are coned out . Back in the day the rubber wheels would stretch out from the heat and weight of from carving a turn . I was wondering what would you recommend for my board . My long board i gave to a kid that had to walk to school and work . It's probably worth $500 or more because of how rare it was . Is it possible to a pocket bike motor in the middle of the deck and battery next to it . They run a pulley system to the wheels ? If so what kind of kit is needed ? Mahalo for you time .
