Best trainer kite intro, thanks!

3 line kites, as described, have fixed bridles. The 3rd line is the safety. Releasing the bar activates the 3rd line, which pulls the kite out of the sky. "Depower" kites are sheetable. You adjust the angle of attack by pulling back on the bar.

Whats the difference between the 3 line and the depowering? Is it mainly the amount of control- the 3 line being on or off, and the depowering being able to have that variable power depending on how far the pilot pulls the bar in?

What do you think about HQ Rush V 300 School as an alternative to HQ Apex 5?
@PlaneNose7 жыл бұрын
Well Done man thanks for all he info, however you didn't covered the weight of the kite and it's size, do you have like a Chart that clarifies the relationship between the kite size and the weight?

I've got a 4M peter lynn Hornet. In low wind(3-5 knots) it can stay up, but it must be continually steered. It won't park at 10 or 2 o'clock window. With a little 7knot gust you can totally feel it. It will knock you down, and even at zenith you can feel it pull up. It all depends where you can go to fly it. Keep on.

If only flying on land, which is better between the hydra 300 and the rush pro 300?
@ChrisHQKites2 жыл бұрын
They both will operate in a similar manor. The Rush is an open cell, so it will collapse when brought to the ground using the 3rd line breaking system. The Hydra will hold air, so it will have a larger profile when brought back down to the ground. This will increase the amount of pull the kite provides when it is parked on the ground.

Is it just me or did you never get to discussing the 2 line kite? There is very little info out there for people starting at the 2 line power kite level.
@ChrisHQKites8 жыл бұрын
+Michelle Bailey Chris feels like 3-lines is the better option. A two line kite operates in the same manor as a 3-line kite, just without the reverse relaunch ability.
