Just picked up the Predator 8x30 AF's and love the feel and look of the glass. These will be great for still hunting. That said, Steiner needs to audit their field testers. You cannot tell me the front lens covers didn't fall off repeatedly during testing. The little ball hitch system is horrible and I ended up losing both covers on a 10 minute walk. I was able to find them the next day and currently have them tethered to the frame with bow string serving material. It's maddening to think they actually tested these in the field!

I have a pairs of Steiner 7x50, 8x40, and Predator 12x40 auto focus binoculars. The Predator Pro 12x40 have been a big disappointment, and I wish I had sent them back. They are lacking in clarity and the 8x30's are much clearer and were a third of the price. I really spoiled by the auto focus feature of the Steiners and might give them one more chance before I jump ship and try a Meopta or Leupold. What is your opinion of the 10x42 auto focus binoculars for spotting game bedded down under trees at long distances? Thanks for making the video and going over the different models of Steiners.

Which binoculars would you recommend to watch birds from 5 metres to 100 metres away? Thanks

Haha, "now" might be a stretch. This video is over four years old.
