I have a shin splint that I use for swelling due to lymphedema. Over the years I have tried to find the best way of keeping the swelling down without always using compression socks which can be difficult to put on. When I am home and not goung out I use a shin splint which is easy to put on and off and comfortable too. Sometimes I even use it under my pants if they are lose fitting, it works great! Another reason I use it is because it is inexpensive and doesnt have to be custom fitted. Most insurance companies dont want to cover the cost for lymphedema supplies so believe it is a great option to use especially if you dont want the hassle of putting on vompression socks

Great explanation. I am going through same Pain and that gets aggravated after every small workout. Due to these reasons, am thinking of trying compression sock, but often confused which one is better: compression socks or sleeves

Thanks for the video content! Excuse me for chiming in, I would love your initial thoughts. Have you researched - Schallingora Smart Business Scheme (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now)? It is an awesome exclusive guide for stopping your painful shin splints minus the headache. Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my BF got amazing success with it.

I play soccer and I get shin splints often so I’m looking to get these but my concern is; Will wearing shin guards defeat the whole purpose of the compression sleeve or sock?
@ritapt2 жыл бұрын
That's a good point. If the shin guards + sock create too much compression then it might be uncomfortable (or counterproductive). I think that's something to experiment with and see what works best for you.

I have on the left leg a shin splint, my tibia absolutely burning, should i go with socks or sleeves? And also it must be running compression slevees? I play basketball

Burning type pain can be a sign that it's not a muscle issue but something else, such as nerve irritation. It would be best to double check with a certified athletic trainer, physical therapist, or sports medicine physician first so you can make the best choice.

i am 5' 5" and wear xl leg sleeves my calves are pushing 20 inches and i have started to get bad shin splints since i started college sports. I have leg sleeves but they only do so much what else can you recommend.

Sorry to hear that! First, I’d recommend making sure you have enough ankle mobility (dorsiflexion). Here is one article that may help - it was written for the military but has ankle information to get you started. Next, I would recommend seeing a sports physical therapist who works with athletes. Your college may also have a certified athletic trainer who could help! Article: ritapt.com/articles/ankle-stretching-knee-pain/
