for me my shaft length is determined by barrel length .if my barrel is 48 49 mm max then i use midi stems or intermediate as i hold darts near back . now if barrel is over 49 mm i need short stems. i always use carbon and harrows stems the 360 and punched flights

Excellent video Marc. I've always used short pro grip with standard number no 6s. Have tried the L style, Clic, K Flex and a few others, all okay but I always end up back with the pro grip and the No 6 flight.

One of the best things about darts is how cheap it is. Even if a board is around £80 you are looking at around 20p per day if you get a year out of it, and most will get longer. Trying different flights/stem set-ups is also cheap if you experiment things like weights and length with the cheaper ones. I really believe most should be experimenting more than they do. For the cost of a pint they could try multiple flight shapes and stem lengths.

I use Mission Sabre 40mm with No.6 Flights. Like the Poly-Shafts with Alu-Top and they don´t break as easy as Winmau Vecta or RD Nitro. I also like the big range of color variety, as i am constantly changing my Stems and Flights just to fit my mood of the day.

the nitros are great stems, really lock the flight in and rarely break on contact. The only thing is they seem a little rear heavy so seem to flatten out my entry angle

Just got a new board for xmas and the amount of times I had to pick up a flight was annoying. I switched to the K-Flex and (as you say) I have now swapped flights on the deck to bounce outs coming right back at me! I suppose if I was playing competitive I would go with the flight on the deck as the points will still count.

Maybe give the shot flight deck a try. I find the material is less springy so less bounce outs.

Last week or two I have been trying to find my optimal stem length. Threw 72% average with short, went to medium and threw a 100% average. I told myself i would throw medium for the next few days (as i have been throwing a lot of short) and the next day i performed very poorly in my practice AND matches. I don’t get it lol

They were used on Taylor’s phase 5 Rossi I believe and that’s the most successful dart of all time! So they worked for him. Not as commonly used though now.

The problem with the more expensive carbon stem is that they are no more durable than any other but at £4 for 3 are too expensive . Cyeelife intergrated stem/flight are the best value out there

Io uso le Red Dragon Nitrotech,sono ETERNE!!!! anche quando si fanno i Robin Hood,si possono rimettere a posto. Ne ho comprate 30,credo che ne ho rotta una sola! Non sono un grande giocatore,ma devo dire che sono molto durature. Ho provato le Target pro grip,ma le ho rotte e dopo un po di uso le alette si staccavano... Ora ho preso le Red Dragon Joust XL,quelle di Cool Hand Luke,e devo dire che mi trovo bene! Thanks for this video,you're always nice!!! Ciao!
