Hi I am from India. We usually have light point on walls and we put tube lights there. But it doesn't look pretty. Can you suggest among the options of general lighting which u mentioned as to which will be the ideal choice if we are not able to afford a false ceiling? Considering an Indian household which is more functional.
@alphb3863 жыл бұрын
Yeah we're also looking to replace the tube lights. I think yellow (soft light) tubelights may work if you can't change the fixtures too. Really makes the space very cosy. But if it's for a study/work area, white lights work the best. Wall sconces are also great 👍.Waiting to hear from Zahira as well 😀 From TN, India.

Really great videos. You passion shine through in every word. I want to break what seems to be a fundamental rule. I am converting a barn into a living space and I have a 120 year old ceiling (3500mm high) that I want to keep pure. I would like to light the open concept kitchen and dining area with upward and downward facing LED that stretches across the 14m space. The down facing LED will lift the kitchen island. Do you have any advice on how to break the rule of using an LED without a diffuser?

Hi Zahira, I've been following your class for quite sometime and it's really beneficial as many have noted here in the comments. I wanted to choose lighting for a new residential space and wanted to go with solely warm white lights for all ambient, task and accent but i am afraid is might end up looking monotonous. What suggestions can you help me with? Thanks

Hello! We love your channel -- the best! Please allow me a question: we are planning the lighting design in our open plan kitchen-diner-living room (house currently being built). We have planned 2700k lighting in the living and dining area. However, for the kitchen task lighting (and to highlight the whiteness of our marble-look quartzite countertops and backsplash), we feel that we need a colder colour temperature....more like 3500k or even 4000k. What do you think? Does it sound fine, or will it "break" the flow of the room?
@laceyrushworth98233 жыл бұрын
We r moving into a new house and there is no light fixture in the living room. Should we just use lamps? Or install one? Theres a stair well beside it with a light. Hall ways have lights. And the dining room beside has a light. So it might be enough with lamps, but what is best? It's a tv room with a fire place. Big couch and coffee table going in there...

Hi I'm new to your channel but already love your channel...not to make you sad but I have always loved design but am an amateur but my friends and family have always loved my home style...not to make you sad but I lost my only child last year to asthma and watching design you tube channels and finding a way to re do my home (which was necessary as I was away with family for over 6 months because this is where my baby grew up went to college, left home and thanks to God he was home when he passed) keeps me going when I just want to do nothing but just the necessary in living..all to say I have a small kichen open to a small family room and know my fixtures are important but ...its so hard but not sure my design style...I have always loved glam for feel over it I have bought a linen sectional...yes have a gray (thank God it is warm) and have kept it very neutral but do have med gray color cabinets...and things i like seem to be mcmI love brass/gold but conscious in not over doing it. I feel fixtures will automatically elevate my space but struggling on kitchen and living room fixtures current ones are very outdated.. I want green in my space (I do have plants) becuase I know green psychology is for healing but don't know how or in what to incorporate it in (without it just being pillows) any advice would be wonderful..I have subscribed and will keep watching...thank you for being in my journey to heal as much as one can
