Open shelves are a terrible idea! A couple shelves is okay but not as a replacement for cabinets. Wanna know why? Dust and grease will ALWAYS get on the shelves and the items on them. Be prepared to wash the bowls/plates/glasses every time you need one. Also, be prepared to keep your shelves looking pretty all the time because your mess will travel to those shelves, too. Especially if you have kids and a messy spouse. These tips are not very good for a functional kitchen. They only work for esthetics.

White is dated and sterile. Wood tone cabinets are the new old as they bring warmth in and don't require constant cleaning maintenance.

The Wishbone chair is hideous and a crime against the senses. I have no idea how anyone thinks this chair is so great. The Barcelona chair is the cleanest chair. Doesn't require the extra space as the others and has the best lines. The regular Eames lounge chair is sized for no one bigger than a toddler, but takes up more space than a love seat. Poor space economy for what it is. A better chair that was left out was the Poul Jensen Selig z chair
