How about the ordinary granative retinoid 2% emulsion po. Do you classify the said product po as a retinol or a retinaldehyde? Thank you po in advance sa answer 🤗🤗

Good question, Jam! The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid contains HPR (Hydroxypinacolone Retinoate), which is a different kind of retinoid. Hindi na siya cinoconvert ng katawan-diretso na siya, similar to retinoic acid. However (and malaking however ito), hindi pa malakas ang evidence to fully prove na as effective siya as tret. So if you're after results, mas okay pa rin ang mga proven na retinol, retinal, tret & adapalene. But if you want to experiment with new skincare actives, it's more than safe to use :) Hope this helps!

Omg jan angelo ngayon lang nakapanood ng video mo about your in dept analysis on retinols i already purchased the wrong kind of retinol i bought this very cheap retinol from shopee i thought i already get value from my money since it's a cream type (which i prefer)with 1 percent retinol as they claim and when i try to look at the ingredients it consists of like what you said on the video retinyl which a very weak retinols feeling ko nabudol ako. but i just comsume it nalang then i would change for another better option. i just think its a waste of money since i bought a good toner and moisturizer to be paired with it

Hi ☺️ I’ve been using +Ful 1% Retinol by your recommendation for about 5 months now, no irritation whatsoever. Idk whether I should look for a different brand as I barely see any much difference on my skin if there’s any my skin just seems less oily. Idk if due to age (late 20s), I get complimaneted on looking way younger. I’m trying the one from Kiehl’s as well, no irritation as well. My skin in general is not sensitive so may I ask for your recommendation on what to try next since I’m finishing my bottle in a few weeks. Thank you ☺️

I agreed, i was so impatient before sa retinoid na gamit ko, but the key is just enjoy using skincare, and not put any pressure on it, in that way hindi ko na naiisip kung gaano katagal nakong gumagamit ng retinoid and i noticed its been 1yr+ na and i'm seeing the drastic effect on my skin. And in addition agreed ulit sa no.3 ilang beses din na irritate ung face ko sa retinoid kaya ilang beses din ako nakipag cool off sakaniya, but we reunite everytime, and finally we're working effectively na HAHA

I do love ur contents as I am a fan. But, just to give comment and insight about the part where you mentioned about retinyl palmitate and giving caution in using retinyl palmite or retinyl esters, well yes, they are not retinol but, we can consider retinyl palmitate as retinol's slightly less intense cousin. Retinyl palmitate is a type of retinoid same as retinol, retinaldehyde and retinoic acid. Agree naman ako na less potent ang retinyl palmitate compare sa rest dahil need pa iconvert 3 times pero still effective, tolerable and can be a better option because it's less irritating especially para sa mga new to retinoids at sensitive ang skin type. I also read an article about RETINYL PALMITATE and its benefits which was medically reviewed and backed by Dr. Julia A. Siegel, a board-certified dermatologist. To add, some known brands also use retinyl palmitate like Murad, Shani Darden, Retrouve and even Elizabeth Arden's Advanced Ceramide Capsules. So all in all, retinyl palmitate is yes, not a retinol but, also a type of retinoid. Just because it’s less potent than its counterparts doesn't mean it's not doing anything for your skin because like other type of retinoids, it also acts both on the surface and within deeper layers of the skin. It will really take time to show visible effects same din as ung other type of retinoids but as what you have also mentioned, retinoids are long-term skincare products. ☺️✌️
