Rod/reel combo with fishing kit as an emergency setup kzbin.infoUgkxntWMOZsO1Zfv-pdn_XuffEtNkTYAYu4Z recommend but started to use this every day. The rod is thick and seems durable. I keep it neatly tucked into a regular backpack all the time with my fishing gear, and can grab it anytime, put it on my back and go anywhere. I just read in another review that the rod length below the reel is adjustable as well, so I will try that too for even more portability. Probably the best setup I've ever owned. I lost the cap for the eyelets, but no big deal since I still have the black cloth sheath that came for the pole and I use that. Very portable and high quality.

I remember fishing with Roland by in 71 at Lake Mead..., He the "BASS A LEGEND", Im still hitting it in 2021. No more circuits, just dropping a hook in the water around Lake TEXOMA and a few other places near by. Thanks to him you BASS fisherman have so many great products and methods to select from. I had maybe 150 rod myself and just as many reels. Sure wish we could turn back the clock to the GOOD OLD DAYS!

The best rod is the one with a fish on it. The best rod is whatever is best for your fishing strategy at the time. It's like asking what is the best gun for defense. It's the gun you have in your hand when you need it. Love Roland Martin. He is the master. Love his presentation.

Hey Roland: Sounds/looks like you're having as much fun making KZbin videos as we are watching them. Thanks for sharing! FYI: On my kayak, I haven't yet used any rod longer than 7' or heavier than "MH". When the hooked bass bogs down in the cover, I take my kayak to him, not vice versa. It's still fun and effective. Happy fishing!

I am enjoying my summer vacation and since I have plenty of time and am very keen on bass fishing, now I am using my English (and brushing it up too!) to learn fishing techniques from the videos of American anglers, most of them bass pros. Also I am spending a lot of money purchasing new lures and tackle via internet (oh my, this is insane! I don´t seem to have enough lures! they are like my colorful adult toys!). I rewind the above mentioned videos again and again to write down notes of my conclusion about the matters these anglers agree with one another on. As if were a student of...fishing. Some days ago I ended up coming across the videos of Mr. Martin and...wow! they are super demonstrative and right to the point. Most of the information about rods I already had but some questions remained unsolved. This video is a diamond of gleaned information which I struggled to gather for long hours because I had planned to purchase a new decent quality finesse rod. If I had had this video everything would have been much easier and short. Thank you once more Mr. Martin. I am collecting your videos!. By the way I ended up ordering a Daiwa Tatula 7 foot medium power fast action rod. I hope to have made a good choice.

I have most of these set ups. You are definitely my favorite from the old days when you fished with little 85 horse outboards in the 73 Bass Masters and I still like your teachings. I so much enjoy watching your son Scott do his fishing videos and it's so easy to see where he gets his zest for life and for this wonderful sport. I'm your age but not ready to leave Michigan for the southern states quite yet. You need to come up here and hook onto a GIANT STURGEON in Burt lake. When you are among the select few that catch one of these prehistoric creatures it is something you will never forget. They use to spear them which obviously meant death to the fish but I release almost everything I catch. I believe they have a lottery or some kind of drawing and a strict limit on these amazing creatures.

Yes Sir........I've always told beginners ya need to work your way up to at least 6 rods, because they'll all be in different lengths & actions for different line, lures, and applications. You can really do a lot with 8 rods. It sure cuts down on swapping out lures too, which kills valuable fishing time.

I think Roland's Confidence Bait is the Senko....At the end of the day...What really works better than a Senko? Going to start pitching with it more with a pegged weight. I carry way too much tackle, Need to go back to just a Senko, Culprit, and Tube/Craw. Love the simplicity. Green pumpkin 5" Senko anytime.

i just mainly use one rod. but i mainly do drop shot or texas weightless. but ya i go a lot and the one downside i put a lot of wear and tear on the single set up. but i just went cheap pole route with a decent reel. if i had a boat or fished tournaments though i think having all the poles would be beneficial because then you can toss any bait a lot easier then if you just have one. i cant do big swimbaits or pitch jigs with mine really in heavy but we dont got much of that here from the banks we can get to. another trick though if you have one pole and one reel and cant afford it all. you can get multiple spool for your reel and have different lines on them so you can still do more baits with just a single pole. though there is set up time ect.
