Hi, Pls clarify 1 point..why private insurance companies gives pre-approval of only approx 30% on tentative bill amount and govt insurance companies gives approx 80%. Customers are forced to deposit approx 75-80% of tentative bill amount at admission time. Why to opt private insurance companies in such cases ?

@@ETMONEY Thanks for replying real quick...This is a general practise amongst private player...For Health Insurance - cashless, they generally approve 25-30% initially and rest amount (upto 80% of tentative bill) has to be paid up by customer forcefully. Ofcourse that gets adjusted in the final bill but just think from customers point of view, is this fair ??

I think the calculation of Health Insurance Coverage should be based on the Medical Treatment Cost which ranges from 50000 to 30 Lakhs. Ofcourse every family cannot effort to own a High Sum Insured Plan but we can go for Base Plan+Super Top Up Plan. As for Life Insurance Coverage is based on HLV(Human Life Value) which is 10 to 20 times of Annual Income, for Health Insurance Coverage, it should be min. 2 times of your Annual Income.
