Dear Pranjal- You rock every time. This video was also brilliant & convincing but I want to put another angle to this if suits to aspirants. You said that insurance should be taken only for the period till you expect to bear your dependents. Not a bad approach but I differ a bit- Why? You never know which of your kid will not be able to become self dependent may be ever! Second- If you pay 10,000/ premium for 35 years (25 to 60 years of age) you spend 3.5 lac but return is zero though you remained insured for 1 Cr for 35 years (You can think you paid premium for security)- not bad. lastly it was of no help if you expired at the age of 61. But if you take same insurance for whole life, it becomes insurance cum investment. May be you paid 25000/ year (instead of 10,000/) & paid 15 lacs in 60 years or 18 lacs in 70 years but return of 1 Cr is guaranteed. How is that? So you will be leaving a a great corpus for your kids despite remaining covered for same amount throughout the life. Parental corpus is always an expectation of kids. So here you are completing both tasks in a single shot. Now the problem is when you retire you are no more in a condition to pay heavy premiums any more. But there is way to this. Now a days companies offer limited premium paying terms for their plans which are costly of course. But then looking guarantee of enormous amount one should bear it. If you are required to reduce the coverage due to restrictions on premium paying capacity, do compromise because it doesn't matter much whether your spouse or kids get 1 Cr or 75 lacs but 100% of premiums are refunded with disproportionate returns, does matter a lot- I opine. I have taken insurance in this manner & now I am relaxed- for a good return whether I die tomorrow or at the age of 100, my kids are going to get good amount & they are never to regret that I paid 3.5 lacs to an insurance company who did not pay a single penny to them for taking this amount- because I died at the age of 61 & my cover was valid till 60 only. So I suggest- keep tight in initial years but always take whole life plan with limited premium paying term to convert an insurance plan in to an insurance cum sure shot investment plan maybe with higher premium because disproportionate return is guaranteed. Look even after paying a premium of 18 lacs (Instead of 3.5 lacs) I ensured that my kids will still get 88 lacs if die at 90 years of age But there I had wasted 3.5 lacs till 60 & think how much that could have multiplied it in next 35 years if I was alive till 95 (Even in FD!) & not have paid this to an insurance company purposelessly in assumptions that I may die- but I did not till that age but after that!? Calculate- how much I had sacrificed. So though costly but it is win-win game. It hardly matters that you take 20 times of annual salary of 15 times (20 times is also not an absolute value) because survivors will make a strategy in 15 years but taking whole life policy will ascertain not only the recovery of your all premiums but also a disproportionate corpus. Lastly- Policy bazaar is a good place to compare but absolutely bad place to buy. They do so many mistakes in making your documents that you suffer badly while making claims. People rely on them & think that they are working for them sincerely but NO they are doing their jobs like a regular NAUKRI. . These mistakes are not surfaced yet because it is a new company & people taking it are yet not dying. You will see results with in coming 10 years when their claims will begin rejecting due to wrong documentation & they will say- that you verified it. I faced it recently. It is better taking insurance from local agents & they offer you enormous concession on first premium with no difference on annual premium at all- I know. I took it recently. At the time of claim online policy doesn't work & their employee linger your cases & you need to struggle at your own (While you are already in a set back) but local guys fight for you & get things done for you keeping you sitting at home because they are from same town & socially related with you. Sorry for writing long- but I wanted to present another dimension.

Sir Thanks for Information But Sir companies should also be consistent to give claims over the years. This One-year data of IRDAI is less reliable. We must also see companies Claim settlement Ratio which are above 95% limit as you said over the time say at least more than 10 Years ie Companies should be above 95% for at least last consecutive 10 years

Policy bazar is worst app. They never give exact premium. They just show higher premium and shows they are giving discount on premium. It's better to go directly the insurance company website. And one point the executive keep on calling you anytime.

Sir, basic Term insurance can be considered as an investment. For example, take cover up to 80 years, yes obvious premium will be a little bit high. But in that case, will get a very handsome amount for family members after death, because 99% of people will die before 80 years.

I have thoroughly watched your video and I did exactly the same, having Term Insurance which I bought from Policy bazaar when I was 25. Just to add here one important Info i.e section 45 of IRDA - "Under Section 45 of the Insurance Laws (Amendment) Ordinance, no claim can be rejected after three years for any reason. This means the insurer has a three-year window to reject claims on grounds of any misstatement or fraud."

NO Sir- Please read it in full (Though agents claim this while selling you the policy). It further says "Unless you hide your details intentionally" (This is complete verse). So if you hide you Diabetes- Their investigator will come your town without your knowledge & discover your doctor. Then he will collect your initial treatment dates with proofs (May be he bribe him heavy to get that- but only if it is true. They never ask to make a forge document) & you are finished. So Pranjal is correct- Never ever try to conceal the truth. I have taken a term insurance plan at the age of 60 but declared my Diabetes & did cardio- treadmill. They added heavy underwriter premium but I am OK with that. Now they can not reject my claim any way because everything is absolutely white & endorsed by them by putting underwriter sum. A small forgery can shatter your plans when you are not there & your family is in crises. Even your family will curse you for this mischief that is now costing them heavy when they don't have an alternative. So never ever take a risk.
