@@RedFoxCrypto That was part of my reasoning in choosing Flexpool. 0.5% PPLNS. And, all the advantages RFC describes in this video that apply to Ethermine, similarly apply to Flexpool. Minimum payout is 0.01 ETH...but I just set a much higher target to not have as much to track for taxes and set a low Gwei target. Must be beginner's luck because I didn't know if I was using the right logic to select a pool. I thank you for creating this video to confirm I'm on the right track.

I’m happy you touched on the tax planning implication of payouts. I feel like taxes are so overlooked in the mining influencers space. You should make a dedicated video on your tax planning, what software you use to track, etc. I always wondered what happens if you mine ETH when it’s valued at $3,200 and don’t liquidate, then tax season comes around what if eth tanked? Do you still pay taxes at the $3,200 income basis? Makes it seem like holding eth from mining is risky when considering taxes.
@RedFoxCrypto3 жыл бұрын
You're 100% right. You owe tax on the price it was when it hit your wallet. It's really important to track all that stuff over time so you can make smart decisions.

Your test must be flawed. PPS+ & PPLNS will pay the same amount in the same period with the same variables if they're implemented correctly to pay a fair share.
@SkantaSWTOR2 жыл бұрын
@@mlodyamen usually that is not the case. Since a pool takes on risk with PPS+. If they don't find a block, they stille have to pay the miners. With PPLNS the risk is with the miner. Most of the times PPLNS will pay out slightly more. I am not the only one to reach that conclusion. My test went as follows: i used 2 rigs with 8 1660 supers. Both at the same adress. One to ethermine, one to hiveon
