I love the modified elongated (crushed ice) diamond and have a couple of custom rings like that. When I was doing my custom pieces old mine cuts were very few and far between unless I was going to do a pre-owned antique but I do love the old mine diamond. Don't mind bow ties unless it's absolutely blaring. Now ties are in ovals which I have a few of those too.

I prefer the flush look. Either a cut out band or an enhancer. Most of the time if I have a ring and an enhancer soldered I raise the ring to be able to view the under carriage and not cover the detail. Engagement rings aren't just for engagements/weddings.

I love a good stack though and do so often. I even have a piece that I soldered together of a solitaire with a halo with diamonds below and above the shank that I soldered the stack that I usually wear with it. Two below and one above with different shapes of diamonds and styles of bands.

My preference is an elongated, with a ratio between 1.26 & 1.30, because these ratios rarely have a bow tie. Here’s my order of choice: 1. Hybrid (I’ve got to see 3 next to each other that are the same size & ratio). 2. Brilliant (again I need to see 3 next to each other that are the same size & ratio), 3. Round (crushed ice isn’t on my list). 4. Round (Old Mined is not on my list). It’s very difficult finding a jeweler to source my request. They bring me in and show me one cushion and a couple of bigger rounds. Their solution is to say “I couldn’t even find 2 the same size and ratio, sorry”.
