I have all 3, is needed I could use all those mixed in one song on the same vocal and no one would notice it. But realistically NT1 and U87 are so close in quality there is really no objective reason to pay so much, unless your really like the fancy that you own the U87. But the room, so true.

How many of the Elgato sound panels do you have ? Do you think they are worth the investment all over the room ?

I have bought 3 packs...one pack has yet to be hung (they are the pretty white ones) And yeah...they work amazingly. They also come in a bit cheaper than the Auralex. Still a bit pricey...but for $250...it will take a BIG dent out of your reflections if placed properly

Which mic should I buy? Just kidding! 😂Thanks for the advice 🙏 I ended up buying an NT2A for my bedroom studio and love it! Unfortunately I hear almost everything through this mic (street noise, ambulances, neighbors talking, etc) and it is not an ideal room for vocals or treatment but I gotta start somewhere.

I'm thinking about going with the lauten 220 v2, i don't really need a pad switch, and the low pass filter seems like it'd be interesting to use, but the self noise is over 12dba, would it still be good for voice over? Or would the noise stack up and become too noticeable? PS, this is for the peeps in the comments who own or have used one

Well said. As someone who has been in many professional recording studios over the years I’ve seen great room treatment in person. At this point I’m currently in a situation where I can’t add any sound treatment to my room. My “studio” is a corner between a family room and a dining room in an open concept home. My 100 year old mother-in-law is living, quite well I must add, in our two extra bedrooms. Having said that your video has me thinking of things I may be able to do to help. Perhaps spreading or hanging some sound blankets around my desk will help. That’s something i need to look into. They may also help to block out some of the background noise as well. Aiden, you’ve got me thinking. Thanks.
