Thank you for your comment! If your child is experiencing foot pain, then I like to recommend shoes with a stiff side wall such as Stride Rite shoes. If your child is NOT experiencing any pain or discomfort, they more than likely can wear any type of shoe. Hope this helps- Dr. Jarman
